  • so here i am with another nice destination

the sultanpur bird sanctuary , nearly 40 km from dhaba .
a good short ride it will take nearly 1hour to reach their.
will be a good ride for newbies. and will be a treat to watch those birds.

    little about sultanpur bird sanctuary:

There are four watch towers (machans) located at different points, an education and interpretation center, a library, films, slides and binoculars for the benefit of bird lovers. A walk along the perimeter of the park takes up to two hours. A room dedicated to the memory of Dr. Salim Ali, which contains his bust, photographs, write ups, and some of his personal effects. There is public parking, bathrooms, drinking water facilities.

    map route

    satellite image of that place

    some pics of the park

    foot perimeter

    you can google more images.

just read it guys very interestingly written.

        • RAHUL RODS: It's good to see that you are taking interest. Forget about the difference now & join in for fun filled events. I am sure you will adhere to the XBHP's motive & what it promotes. The pictures are good, specially the Rossi imitated R15.

Now All: Neemrana fort is an option but it's a pvt property. There is a steep entry fee too. Am sure most of us will back out due to that, including me. One thing I can understand that most of us are zeroing on the Surajkund Area. I am more than keen to discover rugged new terrain. As far as the man-made lake is concerned, I would strongly suggest that we don't go there with such a large group. It may unnecessarily lead us to trouble.
If the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is the one which is bang opposite the Karni Singh shooting range then I would not be very interested as I think it's not the time to watch out for birds. In this heat, am sure not many of us would be able to survive including me

Now I am again saying to all of you guys. Let's take the route which few of us are aware of (Guess Zayn, Abhishek, Mik & Rahul too). This tretch of road in Fbd is in EXCELLENT condition & also it has many twisties. Aftyer that rugged terrain starts. It would seriously be fun.

Guys, cmon, think about it. I won't suggest any random average road.

Dada, there is only thing that has to be kept in mind while riding there, what we observed, that all the newbies, lacked group riding sense, I urge everyone to read the article "Group Riding" and try to follow.
At the stretch we are going, we may need to strictly follow 1 - 1 formation, not 2 x 2, signals will be very important.
And at times, when trucks go by that route at night they put boulders there, and once they go they don't remove it from the road. Sso they lie there untouched.
            So be very Careful!

                  • Guys if you are planning to visit the lakes near the surajkund area, then a request to all of you. The clear blue water lake might seem tempting, but do not try to take a dip in it; the surface is uneven and the lake is too deep. Quite a few guys have lost their lives drowning in those lakes. I myself, along with few friends, nearly got drowned in it.

So enjoy the beauty from a distance. Be safe.

                      • one more suggestion, if you guys want a longish ride. You guys can ride towards Meerut and take the road that goes along the Upper Ganga Canal right after Murad Nagar and can continue till as long as you want. Expect a lot of greenery, inside view of rural life, and a good enjoyable ride.

Sunil Sir, very well said as a simple dip will be a danger indeed . So, we are looking for alternate spots as well . Even if I'd knew swimming , i wont venture for sure .
