I will be riding to Chitkul - Kalpa/ Sangla the coming Monday or Tuesday MG. It will be a 4-5 day trip. However, if somehow I can extend it to about 7 days, I also plan to cover the Spiti Valley.

You will be riding all the way through Spiti valley.There is no need to add it separately.4-5 days itself is very good,making it 7 will only make the trip excellent.

You don't require to check whether Chandertal is openeed or not.Just ride though the Kalpa-Kaza stretch and see till how far you can make it.Btw are you riding solo or with someone?

I plan to take the following route MG:

Day:1 - Delhi - Narkanda
Day:2 - Narkanda - Rampur - Sangla - Chitkul
Day:3 - Chitkul - Tabo/ Kaza (if possible, that is IF time permits).

And the remaining 2 days or so would be used to ride back at a decent pace. I don't want to strain myself, or the machine.

EDIT:
Anyone has any idea whether Chandertal has opened? I heard, from DCS (he, inturn saw it on some news channel) that Rohtang Pass has opened, and possibly with it the Leh route too! But, I am more keen to visit Chandertal than Leh/ Ladakh. Hence, I ask.

@MG: At present, DCS will be riding with me in all probability. Okay, I hope the Kalpa - Kaza stretch has opened/ is open. Thanks for the help MG!

@Aryan: Kunzum is not yet open, so you can leave out chandrataal. A friend came back from spiti on tuesday, hence i can confirm. Rohtang is scheduled to open for traffic today.

Kalpa - Kaza is very much open, the road is fantastic till Tabo! Malling is not an issue anymore coz of the new route via nako, which is 14 kms extra.

Though you might find a landslide here and there

That's really good news to my ears. Thanks for that! So, Chandertal is closed, which means I can actually ride till Tabo/ Kaza. I don't mind taking 14kms. extra, if that means I get to see some god-awesome vistas!

P.S:
Nice to know that the road is actually 'fantastic' till Tabo! I surely didn't expect that.

I haven't clicked that many photographs of today's G2G. Moreover, the pictures are what we get to see on every G2G, which are getting stale really. Must try something new in some upcoming Dhaba G2G!
