Ride to Kas Lake, Satara
Maharashtra's Valley of flowers

At about approximately 23 kms from Satara city, one can visit the very beautiful and scenic Kaas Plateau. The Plateau is splendid and awesome places to visit where one can enjoy oneself in rains amidst the mystical clouds that feather touch you.

Kaas Plateau and Lake will be full in blossom after the rainy season. Varied varieties of flowers with all different colors are in full bloom. This is the indeed the best time for the enthusiastic photographers to grab their cameras and head start out to Kaas. One can capture different flowers here which are indeed incredible to watch, as such this is aptly titled as "Valley of Flowers" .

Mandatory Documents
a. Valid Driving License: MUST have and carry at all times
b. Bike Registration Papers: Original or Attested Photocopy
c. Bike Tax Certificate: Original or Attested Photocopy
d. Bike Insurance: Preferably a comprehensive insurance, personal insurance would be a plus.
e. PUC Certificate: A valid PUC certificate; especially if touring along with the group to pollution sensitive/monitored areas.

Mandatory Safety Gear
a. Helmet: Has to be in good condition and preferably ISI/DOT certified
b. Thick Jacket/Riding Jacket: Must have inbuilt armour or external armour is also allowed
c. Gloves: Must cover vital points like knuckles and wrist. Cut/half gloves not allowed
d. Knee Guards: Either bionic or regular flex type. Should be worn inside trousers if non bionic.
e. Riding Boots/Sports Shoes/Army Boots: Anything that covers the foot well.

Guys - Thanks a million for your hospitality With God's grace, I reached home safely last night. After visiting Udaipur-Jaisalmer-Jaipur, I went to Mumbai on Monday night, stayed there entire Tuesday; spent most of my times with friends (Vishwas Ji - MX6 & the lord of highways ) & then returned back home last night.

Though I'd a loose chain to ride with (read over 700+ kms), God saved me from any disasters.

Thanks a lot guys. Pls feel free to PM me if you're coming to Chennai.

Otherwise, there will be too many people who want to hold the bike straight that finally I wouldn't be able to even touch my own bike

The only places I could find good ones are at Pune-Kholapur etc; but I noticed the loose chain only by mid day & by then I was about 400 Km to Chitradurga & there aren't any shops on the highway unless I skip the bridges & get into town; besides I didn't want to waste time fixing, all I wanted to do was to reach Hosur ASAP. But when I reached Hosur at 4:00 PM, I was confident that even if something goes wrong, I can get it fixed. Fortunately nothing happened & I reached home by 9:00 PM.

Add me to the list. Also can we ride to Bamnoli as well (15kms from Kaas plateau). Again attaching some pics from these places as a refresher. I was there 2 weeks back.

I aslo suggested Kaas - bamnoli - Tapola (35kms from Bamnoli)- Mahabi and back. Check if doeable.

Just one question arised out of vishwasji's ride plan, where vishwas clearly writes in every ride plan if someone is wearing a non bionic knee guards one should wear it inside the pants but all rides i have attended till date, i observed only tenhut wears non bionic knee guards inside the pants. Rest all including me wears it outside so i am wondering in case of any fall which can help you more. wearing non bionic knee guards outside the pants or inside the pants.
