I am planning to witness the total lunar eclipse away from the city's light pollution at a place very popular amongst off-roaders and bulletiers called "Slope of Hell" near Kamshet (just ahead of Big Wheels Motoring Cafe) on Mumbai-Pune NH4 this Saturday (10/12/2012) evening and camp overnight atop. The return journey would start on Sunday morning and we should be home by 10am.

Atop there is a BSNL tower building where we can take refuge or better if we have tents with us we can camp. The view from above is astounding !

Once up we wont be able to come down till sunrise as there would be total darkness ... please carry torches, blankets, food, water, etc as per your convenience ... Also all bikers and their pillions should wear safety gears as per xBhp-Mumbai protocol (check first post of mumbai thread) !

Those who are coming from pune can meet us directly at the base of Slope of Hell between 4pm to 4:30pm. Please carry all the mentioned things along with valid bike documents. See you there !

i would love to join in but not sure if i can stay overnight.. I am having troubles with the back recently so i will prefer to return by midnight if possible.. actually, the eclipse is getting over by 9.30 so maybe i will return by 11.30 or 12.

Check who is joining me (Horror) ... On a serious not its not that frightening as it sounds so common join us .... I guess even Professor Biker is coming ... co-ordinate with him !

To check whether you actually have all mandatory gear. Anyone not wearing mandatory gear will not be permitted to join the ride.
This applies for pillion also.

isnt the gear checked before every ride? i mean, i will maybe come there (g2g) directly from the office so i wont have any gear on except for the helmet, jacket (winter jactet) and gloves (winter ones).
did anything happen during the last few rides?

1. Gear is checked before every ride. However, since Rohit does not wish to send anyone back from the meeting point, the G2G has been organised to ensure that everyone has mandatory gear and if not, he buys / borrows it before the ride.

You are not required to wear all the gear while coming to G2G but inform rohit details of what all you have.

BTW, where are my knee / elbow guards you collected from that guy?
