This is an off topic I know. And without any intention of spamming this thread I would like to appeal to all riders about the malpractice of all petrol pump walas in Pune.
There's a new trick all the petrol pump walas are employing these days and its happening rampantly. It happens to me every time I fill in petrol of more than 200 Rs. No matter how clearly you tell how much Rs. petrol you want to fill they will miss hear it and fill only a part. Example: you tell them to fill Rs 500 petrol. One person filling it will nod and fill only Rs 100 worth. The other person collecting money will try to engage you into a conversation, even appreciate your bike etc. Then when you say that you asked for rs 500 he will start filling petrol but maybe he didn't fill the previous 100Rs petrol that he said he did. Sometimes when they cancel the pre setting on the meter, the meter instantly shows the pre entered Amount and ltrs. Actually they have never filled that but say that meter says its filed in. And in the end you might end up being cheated. Once the person implied he filled in petrol of 16ltrs when my bike's tank capacity is just 14 ltrs. When I made this point he quietly took out Rs200 and gave it to me. Yes and they are dumb too. So what I recommend is that never take your eyes off the meter reading untill the petrol for which you have paid is completely filled in.
When this plan of theirs fails just see the look on their faces...
Common distraction topics: Appreciating your bike/asking you about mileage/ colour of the bike/ asking if you want to fill in some mega lottery form/coupons etc. Please be alert. These guys are pocketing 100s of Rs by cheating. Lets not give them a chance.

Pune: At least nine people were killed and 27 injured when an angry staffer of the government bus service hijacked a state transport (ST) bus and went on a rampage through the streets of Pune on Wednesday, police said.

Meeran Borwankar, Commissioner, Pune Police, said, "The man went berserk. He went on ramming the vehicles plying on the road, he was in a dangerous mood. He killed 8 people and injured 27."

The incident happened shortly before 8 am when the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) driver Santosh Mane suddenly climbed into a Pune-Satara-Pune bus and zoomed off onto the road outside the Swargate ST Depot, driving at a high speed on the wrong side of the road, taking the oncoming vehicles and people unawares.

From there, he sped off for nearly 25 km, ramming stationary or moving vehicles on the route and crushing or knocking off pedestrians before he was nabbed by a police party at Dandekar Flyover, the official said.

Fire brigade and local residents helped police to bring the vehicle under control and rush the victims to nearby hospitals.

You have quoted from the news correctly. Just one correction. Distance between Swargate and Dandekar Pul is 2.5 km and not 25km as was quoted in the original news.

The distance of approx 25 kms is correct as he completed a near circle covering Seven Lover's square, City pride satara road etc...

Heard it from some people coming to office in the morning that this guy took the bus from swarget> pullgate and then swarget towards nilayam. Now I am not sure how much this would make but people coming from Hadapsar were seen quoting this.

BTW ... Since we are going for a Long ride tom early morning... lets all pledge to be safe riders and stick to the plans what all we decide with no adventures taken.
