@Srinath : I guess if you check for the updates for your android, it should get updated to the latest one (2.3 in this case) by itself. I get my phone ungraded this way only, did not do anything for it.

@sandhan valley riders : thought I missed the ride due to some screwed luck and circumstances, still i would like you guys to do a log for the same ASAP. with pics and stories to tell about.

Bloody good ride it seems.
I almost fell off the cliff when the clutch cable snapped while cornering... and yes going back again for cornering after fixing the cable was fun... .. weekend...

@sandhan valley riders : thought I missed the ride due to some screwed luck and circumstances, still i would like you guys to do a log for the same ASAP. with pics and stories to tell about.

I may not be a good writer , but would love to write this travelogue (coz this ride was simply awesome).
To all the shutterbugs present on this ride, please share your pics (with/ without your watermark) in the next G2G, so that I can start writing the triplog.

I will be shifting to Pune from Hyderabad next week.... I have a Rajasthan numbered fz with me and will be bringing it along... In hyderabad the out of state number was not that much of a problem and one can get away with it if you drive carefully and mutual understanding....

What i want to know is the attitude of the police in Pune towards the out of state numbered vehicles....

Is there any provision for a one year road tax payment? and do I have to get the number changed or just paying the road tax and its receipt will suffice?

I will be shifting to Pune from Hyderabad next week.... I have a Rajasthan numbered fz with me and will be bringing it along... In hyderabad the out of state number was not that much of a problem and one can get away with it if you drive carefully and mutual understanding....

What i want to know is the attitude of the police in Pune towards the out of state numbered vehicles....

Is there any provision for a one year road tax payment? and do I have to get the number changed or just paying the road tax and its receipt will suffice?

i think you can pay the one year road tax and ride with the same number, but u would be on the cops radar all the time.
another option is to get a few fuel reciepts from rajasthan without dates written on them, anytime the cops catch you all you gotta do is put a recent date and say dat u got to pune just a few days back. There is i think a 6 month period in which you do not need to pay road tax.

If you are coming to Pune for a long term assignment then you will need to do the new registration to avoid unnecessary hassles especially when you go on rides with the Pune riders or alone. Also sometimes you might face problem with the locals within & around Pune apart from Police especially Autos.

It was an amazing first ride for me to Sandhan valley..most memorable. The cold on Kokan kada, the gravel filled roads, riding in the night, the walk into the valley, the 1 gps ( galis per second) conversations everything was just amazing. Also I can feel a big difference in my P220 after the ride. It feels like its fully broken in.. I can feel the rpm reaching its limits as the bike pushes forward. Before; it just made noise and nothing happened. Looking forward to more such rides with xbhp members in future.

Hey bro, good to hear that you are landing in pune , Well i had the same case of yours where i had my goa registered splendor which initially i paid road tax of something like 3500/- Rs, and was able to use the bike for 2 years without changing the number and whenever cops used to stop me i used to show them the xerox of the receipt and which they accept as the rto stamp was there, once i saw 2 years completion was coming in i went and paid 500/- rs and got the bike registered with pune number.

Not a good idea to visit Konkan in Holi period as almost everybody (local public) take leaves and people dont find domestic help for catering tourists. Has faced this twice in Diveagar and Dapoli.

and in hyderabad there is a provision of not getting your number changed if you have the life time road tax receipt paid... is there any kind of such provision in pune?
