Got down into parking today morning to buy milk and found out that my R15 was not in parking. When i raised alarm, came to know there are multiple incidents in nearby society.

After much hoopla came to know my bike was parked some 500 meters away from society, on main road. Surprisingly, the handle was unlocked, and both front and back wheels missing.

Both Rims with Disc plates attached, and the Sprocket Driven... Same was the case with some other bikes. A good 20K of loss which money i wanted to invest in gears.

PLEASE guys make sure your steeds are safely parked and protected. Must be some gang operating around. BTW i live in Dhanori.

Pune is surely getting noticed due to very wrong reasons. First was because of chain snatching incidents all the bikers with helmets and jackets were being looked on with suspicion and now this new incidents.

Have to park my baby blade safely now.

                Thanks for the info brother.

Can't you claim your insurance? Being metal parts, I think you should get 90% odd money back.

Now that you have learnt a lesson the hardest way possible, there is nothing left to say...

A small tip about the insu part; I follow this for ALL of my vehicles. Get the deed done by a friendly neighbourhood agent. He will give you some discount PLUS one service which will avoid a repetition of the instant unfortunate incident - personalised service. This is how it works. Once he does your job, he keeps the details on his database and reminds you say 10 odd days before the insu expires. You tell him to get the papers done up and and pick up the cheque/cash from your home/office/.....your GF's place (as the case may be hehe). He deposits the papers, picks up the cash and voila! you are covered from the very second after the old policy expires.

My CBR's policy was to expire in May this year. My agent, without any reminder. made out the renewal, took the cash from my wife and despatched the policy via email AND Speed Post to me here at Rajkot. The new policy was in my hands 12 days before the new one became effective. He does the same for my wife's scooter and car too.

He is a senior citizen who lost his wife to cancer despite spending 10 lacs on her treatment. He was very candid that had he not availed a mediclaim policy, he would have had to spend most of his life savings on her treatment. A bit of a sad old man, feels very perked-up after having a cup of tea and some biscuits and a small chat with my wife and kids. If I can do something to keep this veteran's life a bit more liveable now that his soul-mate has gone upstairs, why should I begrudge him the few rupees he makes as a commission? And I know that the commission means sweet f***k-all to him, now that there is nobody to spend it on - both kids in their own domestic rut and only the empty house and the old man in it... You stay in Dhanori else he could have done your work too.

All timely and no jhanjat and tension of "Oh s***t the insur has expired, the mama in the white shirt is now drooling with prospect of being able to drink a good whisky tonite rather than his "Narangi" or "Santra"

Will have the insurance done soon enough. Thanks for the suggesstion.

YOUR life would have been very harsh had you had a macabre accident on the bike - blown off a pregnant woman etc - with the lapsed insurance. Birth and Death is the cycle of life for all living beings. To some, Death comes when they don't want it, to some at the right time and for some real unfortunates, not even when they beg for it. That is.... Life, C'est La Vie, Monsieur!

So, do update the thread about the cost of the wheels etc.

First that gory picture of a crushed hand a couple of pages back and now this worse scenario u mention... You are too neutral to talk about bloodshed. An armyman you are.

Such things actually give me shivers even on thinking about them. That does not make me a weak hearted though. I agree to that "you cannot tell" thing, just that i cannot stand being reminded about life's reality.

That said, the cost shouldnt cross 12K in total. 6K for both rims, 2400 for disc plates and rest for the tyres and petty fittings. will be done this weekend.
