I agree with you! The track record for most of the CBR line up is impeccable. Most racers will swear by the sweet handling and strong engines that CBRs have enjoyed over years.
Not to mention that the CBRs have enjoyed the same technology as used in NSRs and the RC Series.
One needs to keep in mind that most of the bikes that we set out to compare, are closely matched and overshadow others in some department or the other. The best one clearly is the most balanced one with least degree of overshadow with reference to others. To quote it, "Scissors cut paper, Rock crushes scissors, paper covers rock"...but for me, a CBR is a sweet beast.

& I would still pay in cash upfront for cbr if it's available new for 5-6 lacs

The CeeBeeR 600 was one of the first Honda sports model to take chassis and aerodynamics directly from the MotoGP winning RC211V design and development. The problem with Hondas is more about their refinement and forgiving nature (which is why many bikers internationally say hondas are boring and very calm), which after a point gets a bit annoying, especially to super-pro racers, who are looking for intense involvement and minutest feedback. That said, the new Hondas are much more involving and feedback oriented.

Like TenHut said, unless one is a super-pro racer like Rajini, Preetham, Dilip or Rohit Giri, the learners will be more comfortable and hence quicker astride the CBR600RR than the R6 or the 6R or the Gixxer 600.

Quite possible, probably can relate to it on the punny smaller mopeds that I get to ride

haha nah i really meant 'initiated' and not irritated.
What I meant to say was that I wasnt putting forth an argument 'initiated' because I was irked or anything. I enjoy comparing the super sports and hence jumped on the topic.

If I were you I would rank them in this order

1) Train Ticket + Transfer of bike or something (Heck why dont you rent out a bike in delhi itself! )
2) Permission - this can be a pain, I began convincing last year! and while we talk, my mom and dad are packing thier bags for 'thier' rip till Rohtang :P
3) Bike+Spares (if you decide against renting one)

Btw guys, I have a Motul 300v FL Fully synthetic oil can of 1 litre bought from DSG a month back for 895/- Don't plan to use it on my bike right now, so intend to sell it for 850/-.

Yesterday, I have put up an ad on the buy/sell section but the image needs to be accepted by some mod, so the ad doesn't show up at the moment
