Thats what happens when nobody turns up for the free petrolOriginally posted by ROCKRZ View PostYOU BUGGER...
should i tell everyone what you did with that petrol??
btw, I missed the morning flight so leaving at noon.. c ya in lucknow / delhi ...
pst.. a g2g in delhi will suit me better cos i dont have the bike with me...
happy valentines for rest of the puneri gang... have fun... i am wishing in advance cos later cell might be on roaming..
. And for the record.. the trip meter read 1660.7km at 2.10PM yesterday (When I reached my destination {which was not Lucknow
} ). 1158km on day 1.
Highlights of 12th feb ride:
1. I have 3 petrol pump receipts.. 1 each from Maharashtra, MP and UP. All dated 12th Feb.
2. I was pushed off the road by oncoming (MP registered) trucks a total of 20 times.
3. 2 sets of Cranes flew right into me in formation when I was doing 80odd kays inside Shivpuri Jungle in MP. Thankfully they flew straight up as soon as they reached the front-end of the bike.
4. I realized that group rides are lonelier than solo rides (For people like me).
5. I will not be venturing in to MP without an installed 55w HID on the high beam next time around. So, in effect, I wont be riding back.
6. Pune - Nasik - Malegaon(on NH3)(330km) is a worse road than Pune - Ahmednagar - Shirdi - Malegaon (300km). I took the latter on the night I left. It took me 4.5 hours to do those 300km(at night). I usually take that much time to do Pune - Nasik (210km) during daytime.
7. Realized It is quite easy to navigate yourself even without any maps / gps if you have back-end support like Surojit. Thanks bro.. I wouldn't have made it without your help.
8. Thank you Biru bhaiya and Kashif Bhaiya for all the inspiration on solo touring / riding.
9. Even though I was not looking to do an IBA Saddle Sore.. I still managed 1158 km (on non ideal, 2-lane, pothole ridden, maniac infested roads) on 11th-12th feb within 22 hours of riding after which I called it a day solely because it would be very hard to find anywhere to stay in a state like UP after 9 PM. I had reached Jhansi at 7.30PM.
10. The highest speed I did all day was 135kmph. Didn't need to go any faster even though it was very much possible to go faster. The general philosophy was to minimise stops, keep it short, and keep going.
@All Happy Valentines' day to all my buddies here.. May you meet your lady-love today.(Even though you might have met her already.. I hope you will meet her again today
)
@Rockrz The G2G is tomorrow morning in Lucknow. Join in if you want.Last edited by antz.bin; 02-14-2011, 12:34 PM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

'Largest Group in India' to complete the IBA Bun Burner 2500K Ride
Hi guys,
Am feeling very proud to let you all know that I, along with Tushar Jadhav and Nitin Manore has finally fulfilled our Long awaited Dream - The Iron Butt Association, California's Bun Burner 2500K Title.
According to IBA personnel, this is the 'Largest Group in India to complete the Bun Burner 2500K ride'. We completed the task on 12-13 Feb 2011 by riding more than 2500 Kms between Mumbai and Chennai. In fact, we also successfully completed the Saddle Sore 1600K at Nelamangala, Karnataka before moving ahead and completing Bun Burner. We'll be sending all our documents to IBA for verification very soon.
There's a lot to write about and a LONG list of people to Thank. Don't worry am not gonna go all OT by posting our ride report on Offline meet's thread but will definitely mention few points and Thank a few very important people.
In India, sane riding itself has so much risk involved in it. Attempting/achieving something like IBA Saddle Sore/Bun Burner is at least 10X more difficult. Needs meticulous planning and prices execution of all the plans. We are glad that we managed to complete this ride in the safest possible way and without any mishap. People around the world accomplish such rides with ease but if you go through the IBA's achiever's list you'll notice one thing and that is most bikes are more than 500CC and more powerful. Doing it on sub 250CC bikes make it even more interesting
Bun Burner rides are true compliments to the word ENDURANCE. And now when I look at this ride I understand how EASY it was/is to complete a Saddle Sore. It's a race to find the perfect balance between your Body, Machine, Time and Distance. Secondary things like road condition, traffic and weather can easily make or break your ride.
It's always better to have a good company for such long rides and am glad I had it for this ride.
Riding with DK was fun as usual. His sense of humor helped us rejuvenate during our breaks. Tushar, man you rocked in this ride. Great Stamina and control. You are one of my favorite co-riders now on. My kind of biking.
Thanks for the company guys..........
First of all, Thanks to Sunny for helping us with CEAT sponsorship. OF sir, thank you for your vital tips just before the ride and of course your Good Wishes.
Vishwas sir(Pune xBhp), thanks to you once again for all your suggestions and tips. You helped me a lot. I tried to be in touch with you during our ride but couldn't continue that beyond a certain point of time.
A BIG thanks to my bro, Mandar Vichare, for your riding Gloves and Tee
I really bothered you a lot for my ride
Thanks man!
Thanks to Ninad and Tanmay for being our Start Witnesses. They rode to Panvel at 4.30 in the morning specially for us. Means a lot dude. Thanks to Praful Tripathy for the quick update of NICE road and Hosur Road. DK did have a chat with some of the CSS Jan 2011 riders for updates regarding road condition of and beyond NH4. I don't know who those guys are but hey, Thanks to you too! I don't know if you should write it here or not but I couldn't have done this ride without my Mom's help and support. She stood by me in my Saddle Sore ride and once again for the Bun Burner. Proud to have a mom like you.
Anyway, so I conclude this short 'Ride Report'.
