Anyways, the event description is now edited and its made public again ... hopefully you will forgive us noob souls for our gustaki !

@antz... buddy, you are point blank lying... you had started the thread, then you called me up saying that lets frame shrinath for this, then you threatened shrinath for a private party and ditched me out of that plan and then you both secretly made the fb invite private so that no-one could hatch your plan.

Rony - the thing was like the ride is confirmed but putting on FB was wrong, i am still standing as a sponsor but i would request everyone of you to not post the same on FB.

Vishwas knew about this thing long ago before anyone else knew it but he never posted on FB, he kept it inside the XBHP only, as thats the way even my new R15 party was planned.

Putting everything on FB is like giving nightmares at times, the kind of which i faced from today morning.

Secondly, I am myself convinced that xbhp as a whole is a group where people cant really ride. It doesnt have to be you and I. There are ppl who can ride...but the majority have no clue. Have you been thru the CBR250R thread ? True Story !

i have not mentioned your feat here in the office.... the last thing i want is xbhp to labeled is group of irresponsible rippers...

In yesterday's discussion, I shut up cos I felt no point in making them understand that we are not idiots wearing helmets. let them think whatever they want about me or anyone. who am i to preach about anything. If they think that they do not need an helmet, probably, they really dont have anything to protect.
I mean, I prefer to only educate. rest is upon them. however, if they are not ready to understand the logic of using a helmet, what the use in telling them the use of other riding gears.
hence i chose to keep mum and let them crash someday and maybe then they will realise what i was taking about.

and by the way, saddle sore as i interpret is a test of your endurance riding skills rather than what speed you can maintain for how long... so every saddle sore rider is a testimony to their own riding skills.

Even educated people have no sense regarding how useful can a helmet be at times of distress. . Despite explaining them so much . .

Agree I didn't use to wear gloves and other safety gears while touring before I got to know . .But now I comply to safety regardless of the distance. . Another live example is my roomie nitin , who after his very small crash from mahabaleshwar has spent more than 12,000 just as consultation , medication and other treatment . His fall was at max of 20 kmph , his knee ligaments are injured. Now every time I discuss about some ride , he tells . ."Uss din knee guard pehna chahiye tha "

btw, one of my co-worker read your post about saddle sore... the ensuing conversation is anybody's guess ...

as usual, during the lunch break, he mocked the efforts... but intrestingly, my boss (who was coincidently nearby) intervened and he praised you guys... and surprisingly, he advocated the use of helmets and gloves. so you see there is still some hope.

the only irony is that his last line was:-

quite surprising stories of offices at mnc--never happened to me-- maybe they associate a "glam-bling" bike like R15 as a justification to wearing gears

I have heard many a people asking kaunsi bike chalate ho & I always say the gears are for me & not the bike--seems to make them understand a little

Sorry for the late reply ... just came home from office and got my dinner done before posting this !

My replies in bold.

How\why: A small list. Purely individual
1 - I dont know who all are coming as I\most cant access FB via office
Check out for loopholes in your office firewall
2 - I dont know if I am joining because I dont know who all are there on Pt.1
Solution to point 1 will solve this problem too
3 - FB is not a calendar site, its a proper social networking site. This is not what they mean by 'compliment'. They are more of supplementary to each other. Look at the amount of postings on FB, its way much more than on xBHP now.
Hmm ... In a way yes ... but that still does not take away the charm of xBhp and the topics discussed here .... it will always remain the primary platform !
4 - Compare 3 with the state of the Offline threads now, hardly anyone posts around here. Some are not aware. Some cant access. Some dont bother.
I guess FB is not to blame for it ... some other reasons are
5 - Why would anyone stay on the forum if he gets an update from FB on the date time of the ride. The so called 'community' here is dead. People meet and discuss ONLY during the ride which was organized on FB. Might as well call it as FaceBook Bikers.com!
There are ample of reasons for one to stay on xBhp ... its a biking knowledge hub .... FB is just for normal talks and not to discuss hardcore biking issues which we indulge in here ... take for eg the CBR thread ... how can any one replicate that on FB?? ... Moreover on xBhp your posts are visible to all the xBhp members be it ur friend or not ... but FB is a closed circle ... so feedback is limited unlike xBhp where you can reach out to larger audience and get help.
6 - vBulletin platform accross the world is dying because of FB, its not specific to xBHP, but to many a sites now. If you give point 5 a breathing space for an year you will realize that this is not a speculation
The life of the forum depends on quality of stuff discussed and its members ... I don't see any reason for xBhp forum to shut down .... xBhp is more specific to biking whereas FB is generic social networking site ... both serve different motives altogether !

and from the above who all have posted anything on the offline thread since the time the RSVP was open?
For that you can always come home and check FB or we can also maintain a parallel list running here for less fortunate ones !
