Gee I do, which is why I used to show the cops the Trip meter and luckily the R15 can go only till 999

There was a contradictory claim updated regarding this by Vishwas.

Also you cant be fined for it, at best they could ask you to arrange for one in 15 days or so. Not sure if its true, but the same info came to me in a mail, and was updated by Vishwas as well!

its 6months and not 1 year, as told to me by PBK......... there are so many PUC centers........ so we can take the PUC from anywhere, even from petrol pump.......

Mamu's can fine anyone for any reason......... near Yerwada, they fine for crossing the white line before Zebra crossing during red signal.......even a small portion of your front wheel on the line and you are eligible for the fine........ but nothing for helmet........

but why didn't PBK people tell me this at the time of PDI or 5th service... BTW @pads PBK did tell me it was 1 year.... and I wasn't saving 30 bucks by not getting it done... I genuinely didn't know. had to bribe 300 to go ahead

i was once fined for the front left side indicator not working and for tail light dim ( my battery was low at that time). i tried explaining him that its cos of the battery but he was not ready to bulge.

They will find any stupid reason for fining. its just that give them 20 bucks and they shut up with finding stupid reasons.

1) Software is freeware, and is protected by GPL... if you dont behave, I will give you a GPL too!
2) That White line is actually a RULE! If I am not wrong there is a PIL in Pune by some smart people of why you should NOT wear a helmet, so technically he is correct in doing so i gues

You should never pay, go ahead give them the bike keys and take out your phone camera and click your bike pic and his pic next time something happens... tell them you will pay the legitimate fine in the court.
This may be a tedious process but it will help you in the long run :P

The cops at Vasai never catch me now, thanks to one such incident, and then two intentional attempts to find something faulty which failed miserably!

i think these reasons are not stupid. these are laws. in countries and Societies like America, most of the europe these are the Rules and people abide by them
its just that we we live in such a society such lawless. in US u could get stopped and fined for Driving without Tailight and i am ashamed to say that i am riding without both Tail and head lamp for more than a month. but there is a financial reason for that.
* next time Dont give 20 bucks to cops ,find out if that really is a rule if it is and u r at fault pay fine and try never to break it again...

its shareware and you are not authorized to use it here......... this will be violation of all the laws which are yet to be written........
& as mentioned by someone on different thread --- people who are sitting up there are much smarter than us........ so, maybe in Pune its correct not to fine for not wearing helmet ........
the way you are telling is not difficult but very much time consuming......... they'll just sit idle keeping your key and you'll have to stand there........ you'll have to waste atleast 30 min there........
