& as mentioned by someone on different thread --- people who are sitting up there are much smarter than us........ so, maybe in Pune its correct not to fine for not wearing helmet ........
the way you are telling is not difficult but very much time consuming......... they'll just sit idle keeping your key and you'll have to stand there........ you'll have to waste atleast 30 min there........

Let them find a reason which is offensive, and if there is why not pay a legit fine! That 30 minutes for him is as important to him (opprtunity cost) as it is to you.

Either dont pay, or dont crib... If you chose to crib, then never complain about corruption and what not!

If I am not wrong there is a PIL in Pune by some smart people of why you should NOT wear a helmet, so technically he is correct in doing so i guess

The original PIL for helmet use to be made compulsory was filed by a law student as a practise. High court, after deliberations, ruled in his favour and made helmet use compulsory in Pune city. The ruling was being observed religiously by Pune Police.

However, some disgusted gentlemen like me caught the original PIL applicant riding without a helmet and took him to police station for paying a fine. Also published his various photographs riding without a helmet.

This stopped the harsh implementation of helmet compulsion in Pune city. In fact, some months back, Pune Mirror ran a campaign on police and traffic police themselves not using helmets while riding. Both the commissioners promised to take immediate action but still no progress on that front.

So I guess, you all won't be fined for riding without a helmet.

You are not supposed to cross while line painted on the road while stopping for a signal.

PUC is valid only for 6 months and it is printed in bold letters on PUC certificate itself.

Went out to wash my bike of all the muck...got out of the bike wash...only to be greeted by rains again..

Right at the exit of the Baner road onto the highway...at about 15kmph...my rear wheel went berserk again.

I am not getting it...for the first 50m the clutch is my throttle. And the rate at which I let out the clutch is deciding whether I am gonna have a wheelspin or not.

I hate this weather !
