The idea is to meet up together and ride to the destination, all together. It would be nice if all come over to the common meeting point as decided earlier.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostYes sir! We will be riding on the Pashan road. I guess u will come directly.

xBhp Birthday Party
xBhp Birthday Party Log
The time to meet at E-Square was 8:30 PM and we (me and Inder) had left Yerwada at almost 8:20 PM. The ride from Yerwada to E-Square normally takes around 20 min but yesterday, it seems, even the traffic somehow sensed our urgency and kept opening up wherever we were. Reached E-Square to find three happy faces there and what a surprise...Tushar (Beastrider), Andy.Rebels and Lalit(non xBhpian but a known face on out meets).
For us, Andy was meeting up after months of exile
. A while later, NitroSatya with his ever present potli of PJs showed up. Finally the duo of Ankit (ankit63) and Ram (ramthegreat). Ram had managed to get a 1.5 kg cake from "Bread Story" at Magarpatta, more on that later. We waited for a couple of more xBhpians to arrive and after receiving a call from Ritwik (he had reached Chandni Chowk), we decided to leave. It was already 9:00 PM and waiting further made no sense. We started off with me in the lead and Andy, beastrider, Inder, Ankit and Nitro in that order. It was fun cruising at 60s with the group. From E Square, we took the fly over and turned to Pashan Road. For those who know this part of Pune, the ride from Sus-Road diversion to Chandni Chowk is absolute fun. Reached Chandni Chowk to find ritwik waiting for us. He later told me that when we all arrived, the convoy attracted attention of all and sundry in that area.
We went ahead on the NDA road to reach our destination "Khana Peena Jeena". At the parking lot, we were trying to consolidate the number of "yet to arrive" plus already arrived heads. Turns out that Samuel had already come and was waiting for us inside. Funnier part is that he had come on a HH Street
since his Pulsar was borrowed by his bro. After the regular "hi"s and "hello"s, ankit with nitro left off to pick a friend who had recently come to Pune. Rohit arrived in some time on his Pulsar. Ritwik informed me that Sagar would not be able to make it as he had some last minute visitors from Australia. Alok a.k.a inflammable, as informed by nitro was on the way and would be reaching in some time.
We spent close to 30 mins outside the hotel with normal chit chat, leg pulling and jokes etc. A special mention must be made of all members who enjoyed the jokes and took them sportively.
Alok arrived and with ritwik, was engaged in a tech chit chat discussing the new 220. Both taking turns at sharing the internals of the new machine
. For the first time in the history of Pune meets, yesterday seemed so much more organized. Once all were ready to go inside, I declared the contribution amount as Rs. 200 per head, inclusive of the cake. Each person handing over the required amount to me and finally we had a lot of cash
.
On entering the hotel, as usual, Saturday nite in Pune is like
. Mad rush and lot of waiting. We were told that we would have to wait for at least 1.5 hrs to get a table. That meant it would be almost 11:30 PM by the time we got a table. We started deciding on whether to stay put here to to go some place else. We decided that wasting time in going somewhere with this cake in hand and then finding out a similar situation there would be of no sense. In all this inflammable was inflammed
and decided to have a word with the manager and rushed into the crowded place. Minutes later he had some nice news for us. The manager offered us a table to sit at but we would not be served there; a table would be available in the next 30-45 min. We took the offer and made ourselves comfortable at the table and the usual leg pulling, bluetooth downloads and ringtone sharing started.
Just before we got the table, we decided to cut the cake. inflammable taking lead here, managed to open the box and boy-o-boy...what a cake...beautiful as it looked, we lit up the candles (6 to be precise) and cut the cake causing a lot of commotion with "Happy Birthday...." jingle in our horrible voices. Inflammable could have been a good chef since he cut the cake so nicely. Interestingly, Inder took a snap of the cake just as it was cut and in a few seconds, there were hardly anything left
.
A BIG THANKS TO RAM...THE CAKE WAS THE BEST WE EVER HAD. The chocolate simply melted in mouth and the cake was out of this world.
With the entire cake in our tanks, we managed to scrape even the cake board. Just as we finished the cake, we were offered a table and finally settled down for a much deserved dinner. Half of us were carnivorous and the others grass eaters. Ordered chicken and paneer, regular dal tadka, rotis, mineral water and we were enjoying to the hilt.
After dinner, the regular exchange of keep in touch and see you filled the air. As we left, it was drizzling a bit and it was fun riding back. Reached home at 12:30 AM.
It was one of the best parties that I had, recently. A big thank you to all Pune xBhpians who displayed the finest of spirits, best of discipline while riding and a lot of sense in certain situations (hope you get what I am talking of).Last edited by niranjanvaidya; 07-05-2009, 11:16 AM.Never argue with an idiot.
