You wont be buying the stuff and putting for resale the next day right??Originally posted by s_and_m View PostYikes! Buying full leathers + boots just for 5 days of fun? Also I own an FZ. In such circumstances, u really think a guy in my non-riding-boots-footwear should tag along? give me an honest answer pl.
This is a good reason for buying leathers. A full riding suit+boots+gloves will go for about 25k. And they would be yours forever. Also I dont think our bike is needed over there. They will be providing us with SBK's, right TenHut??
Remember the time when sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous.

Honest answer : YESOriginally posted by s_and_m View PostYikes! Buying full leathers + boots just for 5 days of fun? Also I own an FZ. In such circumstances, u really think a guy in my non-riding-boots-footwear should tag along? give me an honest answer pl.
Your leathers if bought for 5 days will last you for a lifetime. Any bikes 150cc plus are allowed though I would recommend either an RTR ( can be rented) or an R15 atleast.
I know its expensive. Any amount close to 85k is expensive...untill you realise the gains that can be achieved through it. The gains are way more than your moneys worth. If you ever wanna pursue this certification abroad it will cost you nothing less than 1 lac per day just in fees.
Why do it ? The ramification of answering this question is that you get percieved as arrogant and rude to those you are trying to answer it to. Why do it ?
BECAUSE WE DONT KNOW WHAT RIDING IS ! None of us ! Not even those of us who get their knee down at Lavasa..
Thats why we should do the CSS session. They dont teach you racing. For racing they have a seperate school. They teach you riding. They train your senses, your sense of speed, they make everything a muscle memory to you, second nature, and they make you a safer rider on the streets by an unthinkable margin.
First you have to believe that you need to learn riding.
Second you have to believe that someone CAN teach you riding cause its not a 'teach yourself in 30 days' kinda activity.
Thrid you have to chose those bunch of guys you want to get coached from.
Getting trained at the highest level with the top most professionals accross the globe will always cost you your entire bikes worth. Its costing you about the cost of an FZ...but you do this once in your life and build up on it everyday you ride for the rest of your life. Its an opportunity...I am not saying you have to do it....I am just laying stress on the necessity to do it whenever you can. If not in year 2011 then in year 2012. Once you do the levels...they are with you for life.
If you wanna know what the sessions look like in detail you can read it here

take the time to read through the entire page and its posts...notice how ppl have been baffled after attending it for the first time. They paid lacs of rupees for one level. You are getting FOUR LEVELS in Rs 50k
I dont even know why I am being so intrusive askign ppl to join in but maybe because this opportunity, although super expensive, is one of its kinds and the gains are way more than your moneys worth !
Take your call. But keep an open mind while making the decision. Thoughts like "leathers and boots for just 5 days of fun omg omg!!" arent really gonna help you make an unbiased decision as you are spending too much time being caught up with reasons why not to do it.Last edited by TenHut; 08-28-2010, 03:38 PM.sigpic
when i ride bullet before my bullet was solid condition but i once race with a Ceilo car and my engine size. mechancic say bullet is good bike but no racing. it is good for three people and very powerful.

I am not kidding! track days do make you a much better rider... be it in any form of riding... plus you get to know from the onces who have been doing this for a living of sorts!
My participation in this one though is highly unlikely, but I would definitely do some sessions sometime later!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

sorry to hear that....... helmet awareness ride is much needed, at least among the youths......Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostI heard a bad news today. A cousin of one of my colleagues had an accident yesterday night. The accident took place at Nagar Road and he was not wearing any helmet. It was found that the boy passed away on the spot.
The reason of death was head injury. He was scratchless on the rest of the body. He was only 19 and had bought his bike a month ago.
Its a grim news and would like to re-emphasize the importance of wearing a helmet.
congrats Dude...... will try to be there today......Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostHello everybody, I will be leaving on sunday for Paris. I will be serving a 6 months internship as a part of my masters in industrial design. Will be returning in February 2011.

Why a trackday ?
Because touring is for faggots ! Try it once, u will love it.
And and while I am at it ( being an asshole by calling tourers by names ) allow me to intimidate a little more by attaching a pic I love.
I AM A HATER ........ HATE ME ALL YOU WANT but do come to the track. Top level professionals like Kieth Code and Andy Ibbott will make you go through a military like rigorous course for 5 days and at the end of it all you shall come out a changed person, you shall come out a marine !Originally posted by TenHut View PostDont fall for it dude. I was just being an intimidating asshole. I find it boring and difficult to be politically correct 24/7.
We got a lot of tourers here and I was just wanting their attention by calling them names. I know most of them (except that guy I hate, Surojit) personally so there is no bad blood here.
Both touring and track riding require high physical stamina and endurance...but I shall have you know that it is considered worldwide that 1 km on the track is the equivalent of riding 6 kms on road. Track riding is the most tiring form of riding.
If we could make a small group of 5 to 6 riders from Pune we can cut every sort of expense down considerably plus it will be a lot of fun doing it with people you know and ride with on Sundays !
Now, respectfully agree with this !
@ Satya : congrats dude !
@Satyen : I may not ride down if we are enough no of ppl transporting our bikes and stuff.
Expenses arent made official yet(nothing is made official yet) but it will be around Rs 50k for 5 days of coaching.Tenhut, lovely info...... wanna join this....... cause there's a lot to learn...... but this time it'll be difficult....... but very soon in near future.......Originally posted by TenHut View PostHonest answer : YES

rains impede lavasa rides big time.
Thats one reason why there was no co-ordinated effort to go to lavasa.
I was all for lavasa tomorrow untill it rained like crazy in Aundh.
Will lavasa be dry tomorrow ?
EDIT : NV and I are going to lavasa tomorrow pretty late at 8:30 am. We shall meet at CC first and push towards lavasa 8:30 onwards.
Its more of a liesure ride to spot potholes and sight texture changes in road that might have been done/undone by the rainy season.
Its not really an early ride so if you can make it do join.
EDIT 2: Devil pulsarian is to join us !Last edited by TenHut; 08-28-2010, 08:22 PM.sigpic
