so you have no idea what an RE is.

Unlike an r15 or ninja , you have to grab the bull by the horns and push it into a corner. Most of the times the rear and front will be going into different directions and you have to do mid corner corrections to stay on the correct line. After you have successfully made it thru , u will say to yourself , phew , that was close , but a lot of fun

Oh and those square profile thin tyres at the back , make it even more exciting

One of my collegues is planning to purchase a RX-100 (1991 model)
According to him, the bike is in good condition.

He has been quoted a price of 25k.

Since I am completely out of league for this issue,
Just wanted an opinion regarding the price from you people.

Is the price fair or is it too much?
If it isnt fair, then what is the ideal price for a RX-1991 model?

25K is steep. Check out if it is a Jap engine. If its not then I suggest dont stretch more than 20K. I was quoted 28K for my piece

did he checked how many times is the engine overhauled and after last overhauling how many kms it has covered, again i think if its the 91 model then the engine will be rajdoot one, which is different than the original jap which was stopped in 87-88 i think, but still if the seller is asking 25 k for that engine than one has to really check it by showing it to some RX expert, Other way round he can get a bit less good condition for 15-18k also in pune or he can also go for shogun which he can get around 10 -15 k.

I say so... riding 'Priya Bajaj' after some gap has always been an issue for me.

She love being ridden everyday. Even a li'l bit is good. Two strokers need it that way i guess.

Shogun/bajaj priya and Yamaha RX100 are different bikes, I believe. Isn't it? How can you make an assumption about the RX based on your experience with non-RX bikes/scooters?

I have had no such issues with my RX in the last 4 years. Its just a machine and does not have any preference of being ridden everyday

well i have not used RX100 that much but people who own it says that it has to be ridden everyday to keep engine in top performing conditions. now its their ownership experiences which i am pinning down here, may be you are right and they are wrong or it can be vice versa.
