Please end this conversation regarding cake cutting G2G's as you know this thread was closed for a day due to some reason we all know about. If this is so important for you kindly meet up or resolve the same on call and only publish the result here since this is not a ChatBox.

Mods have to look after many threads like this and if this thread will violate any limit then it might have to be closed again and this time it might be closed forever. As we all know XBHP has been medium of interacting with people who share the same passion as us, incrementing our knowledge regarding the same and a place where people if want can find solutions regarding their queries related to Biking, Bikes, etc.

So please use respective threads for respective conversations rather posts and post sensibly.

Regarding the knowledge sharing sessions let’s meetup somewhere in this week and talk, then conclusion can be posted here and followed (Further details regarding this will be provided soon)...

hey Guys, what happened to this thread..... why is it that everyone wants to be so serious..... we can't discuss this, we can't discuss that, we have to be serious, we can't just chit chat or whatever all that tcomes to mind..... what is wrong with that..... and if everyone wants to be serious, then please stop posting anything on this thread..... use sms channel for G2G date & time or other threads for discussing other topics..... create different threads for discussing every small adventure and use sms channel to notify about that thread.....

@ G2G baba and all other senior members - how if we organize a small cake cutting combined with a g2g every month end for all the XBHP member birthdays suggestions welcomed.

we can do it once a month and have a huge G2G..... maybe on weekend preferably..... a small ride and then the cake cutting will be good..... cake cutting might become very loud and it may cause problems to others.....

How about organizing a G2G where something about biking is talked about?

hey Vishwas, how much more knowledge do you want..... are you planning to open a sc ..... on every G2G, might be difficult..... but having a G2G a month, might be useful..... what about on the B'Day celebration..... we'll be having the whole day & we can share the knowledge..... small talks can be held on any G2G.....

I guess nobody wishes to talk about the technical topics. I wish to volunteer on giving the presentation that NV has already prepared if NV is too busy / fed up of the attitude of my fellow members here.

Wednesday / Thursday / Saturday is usually our G2G day.. If I get the presentation ASAP, I could do my homework properly in answering questions thrown at me after the presentation. And even if I am unable to answer a few of your questions, we always have senior members who can help me out there. We could have our first technical G2G faster than we think. I have been a member here for over 1 year and have learnt a lot through all the information all around apart from this thread. Its time somebody took the initiative and clear up our biking related doubts.

As Surojit said a lot of times earlier, people here have trouble in even comprehending the spec sheet of a bike. So, as a homework for everyone wishing to learn, I urge you people to get print brochures of your own bikes + mail me digital brochure (jpeg imeges only) on my [email protected] so that I can integrate them into the presentation. Though digital brochures are good too, print brocures will be better for ready referability of the attendees.

P.S.: If NV still wishes to do the honours, he is most welcome . Actually I think he will be the more preferred speaker.

@Hyperbolic Rishab the thread currently is in a worse state than it was when it was locked. The participation is reduced, people dont check the thread even for weekend rides. I did 2 rides this weekend (on saturday and sunday) and both had the same no. of participants ( 2 including me. ). This is especially bad considering the fact that it did not rain entire weekend. Its not that I dont like riding solo.. but when you belong to a group, its good to have company.

Edit: Could we have a cake cutting G2G at the 1st (weekend) G2G of every new month. That way it would not be very hard to decide the dates, and we will also be saved from 'Month End Blues'.

First of all what is a sc?

All I am asking is at least some discussion related to biking. What do you mean by how much more knowledge? What knowledge has been imparted in G2Gs till date? I am not asking for a classroom environment but expect the talk at least to be biking related. I feel that we meet together because we all are interested in biking. Then why can't we talk about biking?

Do you know that one guy asked some of us in last G2G whether air pressure in different bike's tyres is standard (same). This was a serious question and not a joke. If this is the level of biking knowledge in our group, are we fit even to term ourselves as biking enthusiasts?

You guys are single and staying away from your family so you may be able to spend a whole day in a G2G. I can't. Secondly, do you honestly feel that you can get all members interested in absorbing knowledge for the whole day?

Posting ride plans after 10pm the day before does not increase participation for the ride.

Having a cake cutting program every month will reduce the fun out of it and it will just be a procedure to be followed every month. Where is the fun in that? Also can we ensure that at least the birthday boys will be present for the cake cutting?

@ pads and everyone who thinks technical discussion should not happen regularly - i was facing a issue from last 3 days in my bike where i was getting some rubber burning smell whenever i used to ride, i checked everything but could not find the fault finally yesterday night my mechanic checked thoroughly and found out the cap over spark plug was burnt, now for many this is like a small issue but for for me this technical related issue was a major problem, so its like whatever knowledge you share can help someone like me down the line to troubleshoot as once you listen or learn something the knowledge never goes waste.

@ Rishabh - i agree to your point that this thread has to be taken seriously, but i am not saying here cake cutting just for me and Hyperion but for the entire XBHP members of pune and as per your point to meet up and talk in a G2G is not possible as many people who post here are not coming to G2G regularly, and i have observed from last 1 month or more the members in G2G are reducing to just a handful where me, vishwas, rohit, antz.bin, ten hut are there and rest all senior members are missing.

So tell me if you know any other way to communicate to everyone apart from posting here so maximum people can read and come.

Frankly if its continuous like this where members are not able to give time for this thread and meeting regularly then i wont be surprised if the pune thread is dead, and frankly i think spending 2 hours out for a g2g out of your full week is not a huge load put on your head.

I don't know how I can be a senior member (except because of age) but I do not intend to attend many G2Gs in future if bike related (not necessarily technical) discussions don't happen.

I am sure we all have other friend circles and I would personally prefer to spend more time with them if we are not talking about biking.

If that is so then better introspect .... I got no business posting here but as a friendly neighbor I would suggest to take the cue from Hyperion's "Well there's such a thing as taking a joke too far." statement. Excess of anything is BAD. The need of the hour is to strike an adequate balance between the two facets of G2G being discussed here i.e. Technical and OTs. All the best
