Experiences with "not so well behaved" honda owners

1. One Honda owner crashed because his battery breather pipe tangled with rear wheel.

2. One Honda owner crashed because a dog hit his bike near Balewadi.

3. One Honda Owner thought that a truck was mocking him so crashed head on into it (thereby totaling his bike)

Old tyres are the worst things to buy. You are to buy a tyre within an year of its manufacturing date. Max within two years. Try digging your nail into a three year old tyre and you will most prolly break your nail. Riding on plastic like rubber is risky.

So how do you know how old the tyre is ?
The date of manufacturing is wirtten onto the side of the tyre. Into the rubber...no one can tamper with it.
it will be somewhat like this
"2309" or "3509"
2309 = made in 23rd week of year 2009
3509 = made in the 35th week of year 2009

Here is what u can do
go to DSG

and ask him for a set of pilot power...he has two, one which is new and and the other one is old. Try digging nails into both of them.
He keeps the old tyre for the comparisions sake ! Not many ppl know that tyres come with the date of manufacturing and that they harden with time. Just like engine oil is rendered useless faster if u dont ride the bike at all. Some proudly say they bought pirellis at 3k
Yeah well u got them at that price cause they werent even worth that price, they are 5 year old pirellis.

Also, if u store ur tyres in sunlight you kill them in a week.

Interesting, does this apply to all tyres or specific compounds.. mine have stayed a decent bit under the sun! I always thought that these problems plagued for the imported tyres. I guess, as they were designed to operate in an ideal weather conditions in thier specific target country but were smuggled to India.
