The so called "water proof" linings are useless then?
I recently bought a DGS Nero jacket hoping that it would give decent projection from the water during the monsoon rides as well.

It actually depends on the rain I feel. for some rides the Nero will suffice, while for others nothing will.

And are they any ideas to save your shoes from getting water into them? or do we just have to learn to live with that? Many times the shoes start slipping over foot pegs, causing big problems. Hoping experienced rain riders can throw some light on this.

What we did was use polythene bags under/over our socks, that atleast kept our legs a bit less let.

for the shoe part you can use some industrial safety shoes during the rain... they have anti slip grips along with a steel toe and if you the ones which are till the shin you will get waterproofing as well....

But are they comfortable for riding and a bit of walking??

i hv never been very active on the forum though hv been reading thru these forums for all kind of info on bikes, riding gears etc.

i hv shifted to Daman recently and was thinking of riding my bike (P150) from Pune to Daman this wednesday (13-6-12). I hvnt toured a lot.. actually hvnt toured at all apart from few rides to Ranjangaon/Chakan for work. so this wud b my 1st long ride and that too on my own. I am aware of what route i should b takin (though i hv never actually gone past Talegaon on the old NH4) but wud b gr8 if any of u cud give me tips for the ride.

Wud b awesome if anyone intends to come along - if nt till Daman, maybe till lonavala/mumbai.

Yeah they aren't too bad, I use them at work everyday! Just need to get used to them initially

not very comfortable needs some getting used to for a couple of days initially...

am using them daily for work, which includes a km long walk from the parking lot to the desk...

The route is very simple and roads are good. You will heavy traffic while crossing New-Mumbai and Thane, but if you avoid going in this patch during the peak hours it will be easy.


Take breaks are regular interval; whenever you feel tired
Try to ride at a constant speed without stressing yourself
Ride with at least minimum safety gears - Helmet, Gloves, Jacket, knee guard
Listen to songs to be keep your mind occupied


Being a weekday many riders won't be available.


Enjoy and have a safe ride

Funny thing is that although this wud b my 1st long ride, i hv the entire riding gear with me...Hv been thinking of a doing a Pune-blore ride since i was wrking in blore (almost 3 yrs back) and was buying riding gear one by one for it. this ride will b kind of test ride for me b4 the PNQ-BLR ride which i m most likely to do this Aug.
