The Official Pune Offline Meet(G2G) Thread

I have asked you exactly the same thing. Who will be talking about those subjects and have you spoken with whoever that might be before posting? Is he ready with relevant info and willing to do it?

You can't just post topic for G2G without knowing who will be talking about the said topic.

Vishwas, i think if we can start a discussion also and get some knowledge also than i think it will be worth.

Lastly as many have issues with G2G on Thursday or Friday please suggest which day is preferable to majority of the members for the next g2g before hand.

Also i would like to ask people who have the technical knowledge to come forward and lead the discussions.

My only request was - "The SIE trip ki kahani,SIE riders ki jubani"... So I wanted all of us to be there at the same time.I am sure we can keep this as an agenda in a seperate G2G.I and Antz would'nt be available over the weekend.And about Hyperion and Surojit,I am sure if they are well informed a few days earlier they can make amendments in their schedule and come.

I am not in a favour of individual members speaking on individual days.I mean,each of us in SIE had a flavour to add to the ride and if you hear the story from him,then listening could be much more fun.If all are present ina group.you will hear different views of same incidents from different members. Plus, a little legpulling, some teasing,some friendly abuses,some excuses. You can't really ignore that.

Rest, as the fraternity decides.If they want individually, so be it.Afterall, I was just posting my opinion.

Since you posted a specific topic, I thought you had discussed it with some knowledgeable people so was enquiring. How can we have a discussion if no one knows technical details about the subject?

Yaar Shrinath chill maar yaar..... why you getting so hyper? zada se zada kya hoga ek aur din k liyea thread lock ho jayega... please dont make this thread so boring/serious that it looses the charisma of being an offline thread.... and yeah dont also take it to such an extent where there is one biking post per 300 posts.

And just by posting that today we will discuss on XYZ and ABC, wont start a discussion, if you ready to take the responsibility start with urself... take your time.... read, understand and then pass on the knowledge to us.

And about the SIE ride.... that is no big deal... All of us have our own priorities.. so its natural that we will attend g2g at our own will..... i dont think that our personal/professional priorities has changed because the "pune offline thread" got locked. Jisko comfortable lagta hai... aayega... nahi toh nahi aayega... thats as simple as it can get.... I wont make it on either days.. because I want to celebrate durga puja with my brother... now just because you posted, should I leave everything and come t enlighten you on my ride? BE PRACTICAL mate.... we will give a detailed report dont worry....

SIE Riders dicussion could and should happen on a joint discussion with the Mumbai folks, somewhere @ lonavala or Khadakvaasla, depending where you want to treat us...!

everytime there will be ppl who wont b able to attend given G2G.. u have to decide what to do...

i will suggest u arrange G2G this on weekend.. this will clear the confusion and give speakers some time to prepare their topic.. first call them and let them know what topic they r supposed to speak on...

There is a very simple reason non biking discussions prevail on this thread. There is a thread for all the biking discussions we indulge in. You just have to look around. This thread had the purpose of keeping a healthy communication within the members wishing to participate offline. We can discus whatever we want in our offline meets.

Why do you want to make this a technical discussion thread?

Whenever we form 3-4 groups in a G2G the discussion happening in the group is rarely non biking related. Even I was a new member to the group not a long time back. It is not very hard to find a compatiable group to ride / chat amongst the 5 types of bikers enumerated by TenHut a couple of 100 pages back.

As vishwas says there are 5 kinds of riders in our fraternity

1. Rippers, love the quickblast onto the highway. A mad dash on NH4 towards vai,mahabaleshwar is the most sought after activity by these self proclaimed high speed morons.. This kind of riding often is a quest to boasting three digit figures at breakfast tables and nothing more.
2. Cornering Junkies, may go slow on the straights but will always try to be MotoGP racers in the corners..lavasa and aamby are likend to isle of man and mullholland highway by these riders. Such is the insanity of this bunch. Breakfast talks boil down to sharing knowledge about which corners had oil spills and how you felt on top of yourself this fine morning.The reality is that everyone is shitting their pants and blaming it on the tyre traction and paved/unpaved roads. If you want to have a false sense of being good at riding you have to embrace this category of riders.
3. Tourers. Question...why would anyone tour ? These guys have insane departure times, the likes of 3 am and they find a ride in summer at 12 noon exciting. There are no breakfast talks here cause there are no breakfasts at all. These riders feed on bugs and flies cruising innocently into their mouths at a mere speed of............................... 80 kmph !! Everytime I have toured on a motorcycle I have felt like a taxi driver.
4. Off roaders !! Wanna thrash your bike ?? You cannot better an offroader at this. Theres no better way to burn money than thrashing your baby on roads I wouldnt ride a bulldozer on. While the rest of the world is working out ways to increase tyre traction these bunch of riders love it when they have none at all. You also go tumbling down a valley only to be loud enough to ruin a fishermans 3 hour catch ! The world hates you if you are an offroader..ok thats not true but the fishermen sure do.
5. Confused riders..these riders love the quickblasts on the highway and love offroading too. There are days when they love cornering and touring too. They are confused ! They tend to attend all rides and make their presence and sweaty odours felt at every ride. These guys smell of sweat all the time. They are always returning from some ride.

And as with these types, there are people who may belong to more than one type of riding, and thats how you get to interact with diverse people even within the same biking community.

Everybody does interact with everyone in some way or the other. The tourers interact with the cornering junkies, the off-roaders interact with the rippers, in effect sharing their knowledge and eventually converting every1 to the category #5. Thats what is the most important bit and the only purpose this thread serves. If you want a technical discussion, look around, Pune xbhp g2g thead is not the ONLY thread on xBHP. And anyways people commenting on the technical topics here may/may not be the best ones you could get around here if you compare with the no. of active members all over xBHP.

Summary: Slow down the leg pulling and the thread was good the way it was prior to being locked.

Sorry, if this adds to the confusion.
But, I Have a lot of videos on working of "two strokes,4 strokes,disc brakes, carb and FI, MPFIs, How to choose the right helmet, roadside reparing, chain lubing, tire changing", and so many more and some of them are very basic.

Also, things like visit to the Dainese and Astar Factory, testing of Dainese Airbag jacket, cornering, riding on street and similar stuff. So if anyone needs, they can pass me their Storage devices and, it surely is informative.
