I remember doing the gps trail last time we visited chail.. In any case, the route is pretty simple.. Just follow the big green markers put up by NHAI..

Hit NH1 from karnal bypass and follow road directions to reach ambala..

At ambala follow road directions for chandigarh

On the ambala chandigarh road, take the right turn at zirakpur which is for shimla/kalka (i.e. you take the right turn which takes you to shimla/kalka as per the boards on the road)

Now you will be on the zirakpur kalka road.. Cross panchkula, pinjore and kalka and follow road directions for parwanoo.

Parwanoo is the first town on the nh leading to shimla.. The hills start the moment you cross the boarder from haryana into himachal.

Now follow the road and cross parwanoo, dharampur & solan. After solan be on the lookout for Kandaghat. Kandaghat should be around 15 km from solan (if my memory serves me right)

At kandaghat you will need to take a right to chail.. If you do not know the turn off, then it can be a bit difficult to find the same as the road markers and boards for this turn off are not very clear.. The turn off is right next to the kandaghat railway station and right before the railway bridge..

After this just follow the road and you should hit chail after riding for another 30-35kms..

Now for the meet up, etc.. What time are we guys from delhi meeting up and at what time do we meet up? Is it 4:30am at karnal bypass, if so, where on the karnal bypass, as there is a new flyover there and not many places to stop before the sanjay gandhi transport nagar red light. Or is it 3:15am at monastry?

as per decided that we have to reach karnal by 6am...so we have to leave by 4am(sharp).
about the meeting point....We can all meet at monastry(ahead of ISBT) at 3.30 and can decide some points which may be useful to all members.
