the Yam 's talk reminds me of the hollywood flick "GLADIATOR" , were the scene was that the warriors were inflicted with agony/pain to entertain the crowd.Originally posted by Aryan View PostThey said that!? What an crappy attitude! Simply unacceptable.

This is a sad state of affairs. Biking already carries the dead weight of being a highly injury prone activity and a global company like Yamaha not laying enough stress on the safety aspects of the sport is unfortunate.
Riders here need to mature and leading bike manufacturers have it in their interest to aid that maturing process. They need to highlight motorcycling as a skillful and exciting activity that need NOT extract a cost in terms of bodily and materiel harm. The event flow, the venue and the allied safety arrangements should actually be in the hands of committed professionals and not just the sales and promotion people. This obviously does not appear to be have been the case here.
During the Castrol Passion hunt, both xBhp and Castrol have almost been paranoid about putting up a show that does not compromise on the safety of the participating riders. Even for riding events focussed primarily on slow-speed biking control, we have ensured the availability of riding gear, the stress on a valid driving license, shoes/boots covering the feet and repeated announcements about stunts NOT being allowed inside the competetion area. A couple of participants riding fast inside the field and/or indulging in stunts have even been summarily been disqualified from participating. All this has contributed to the six events so far coming through with a clean safety record.

yes Aryan da u can confirm this by asking L.P. and kunjal.Originally posted by Aryan View PostThey said that!? What an crappy attitude! Simply unacceptable.
yes sir For safety concern we are expecting same arrangement like as PASSION HUNT.But no ISI mark helmets, knee and elbow guard, even some rider wearing helmets without visor or broken visor,Gloves are rarity over there.IN this event only one person who is fully equipped with all riding gear is our L.P..even L.P. scolded one under age rider who is performing stunts without helmet and wearing Xbhp official T-shirt and he even don't know about what is xbhp is all about.Originally posted by Old Fox View PostThis is a sad state of affairs. True... when rpmboy, Jasmeet and me were ther yesterday ther was a group of underage guys wearing xBhp tshirts and doing stunts withoput wearing any of the gear..... I doubt if they even had proper paper works for the bike .....
this makes me quite sad as due to few stupid %$#*& the whole biking community gets blamed for..... where we are here to spread awareness for safe and proper riding the so called "DUDES" ( DUHS!!! in this case) they ruin our reputation.....
well whatsoever I hope we as xBhpians will always focus on being a rider club which concerns for BIKES, RIDERS as well as People On Road too....
I could not click few pics of stunts outside the Yamaha event venue.... as i was afraid of two bikers performing stunts ...one was with "blueP220" and other one was the "CBZ" guy ...oh me jasmeet and rpmboy were worried about we being hit by them rather than clicking snaps......
I hope these bikers gets some brains before its too late....!!!!!

Well, that wasnt a very pleasent thing to hear from the Mouth of Yamaha Officials....... if fun was what the crowd was there for...I would say....they have a sick Sense of entertainment...... but whatever...am Glad that Our Mates from xBhp take Biking as a more serious activity where although for the fact that risk involved is close to 100% but the consideration towards personal safety and of the others who are there is also the kept in mind.
But then....thats how few of Us are....
@ All:I rode the Rx 100 last week and understood why it was a point of concern for parents of that Era... Glad that these days we have maufacturers putting in some more mullahs towards the safety tests. Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

This programme by Yamaha was completely contradicting from the R15 championship they conduct in Chennai. They did not provide any kind of safety gears to the participants.
Organizers of the Passion Hunt event provided safety gears although there was no racing involved. Out here, it was different.
I did had a talk with Sanjay (Tripathy) before the event started. In addition to Chennai, they are planning to have the R15 championship in Mumbai/Pune this year. This event, I believe, was held for namesake - to compensate the north Indian Yamaha customers.
The same Japenese guy who used to race on the MT01 among the R15s at the R15 championships was there; though on a smaller dirt bike. Guess he knew about R15 participants complaining about his mad ride at the R15 championship. He was not that mad this time around. However, he was at his act occasionally - scaring the s**t out of the participants.
The drag race was of a different kind - racers had to go 200mts and then take a 'U'-turn and come back. With gravel presence at the turn, scores of racers had a bad fall.
To sum it up all, it was a great day for Yamaha - their spare parts sale will save them for the next quarter.
Hitesh (Agra xBhpian) won the drag and slow riding races. He finished fourth in the circuit race. On a lighter note... this guy, to me, looks very much like a chota Rajpal Yadav.
P.S.: My views may deject a lot of Yammie fan boys, but this time around, Yamaha failed on all fronts.Last edited by kirosh_03; 03-23-2009, 05:41 PM.All men dream, but not equally. Ok guys, calm down. I have a message from Yamaha india itself that I want to convey to you all:
First up, one thing is very simple. It is not up to Yamaha to provide adequate safety gear for participants. When one buys a hundred thousand rupee motorcycle, one should have the common sense to wear at least a helmet and proper footwear to a competitive event. Hell, one should wear it ANY TIME they go for a ride! Refer to my rant in Hard Torque for my personal thoughts on this.
Secondly, Yamaha motors neither endorses or supports any talk that encourages accidents or anything of that sort. They are providing a platform for riders to enjoy themselves, but they are not in a position to police each and every guy present and stop them from making asses out of themselves. Seriously, how exactly does one find fault with YMIL for the "P220 guy" or the "CBZ guy"?
No public even in this world can be a success without the proper attitude from the people that take part in it. The organizers can guide them, but like I said before, they can't police them. We're all adults and we should know better than endangering others' lives in such an environment.

this was the worst event i had ever attended.
Circuit racing:- ohh my god the track was full of dust and gravels...
Drag :- After 200mtrs. U turn..
The guy who won the circuit race was in the Drag race also with me. He was over confident and he slipped off on the U turn due to which i missed 1st place. The riders dnt even know about safe riding circuit racing etc.,they just want to win the race at any cost. They were overtaking at sharp turns which leads to accidents and some of them hitted other riders also on the track.
A guy stood 1st in the Drag heat run and after completion he was applying breaks suddenly the rider behind him hitted him at a speed of around 70km/hr..The management was at its worst during the event.
You guys wont believe that most of accidents were like the same...Last edited by kunjalsingh; 03-23-2009, 06:58 PM.

well.. is the disaster only becoz of the p200/CBZ guys??? I guess no!
Ofcourse No organization will endorse for accidents in the events, even the Passion Hunt even has that term. But some basic measures should be there. Were there at least a few ambulances??
I wish there comes some organization that checks the safety measures of such events!

Synn, I wasn't there at the event and so am commenting on the basis of what I have been told on the phone by a couple of people apart from the xBhp members present there. Yet I would beg to differ with you on the modalities. Any company organising an event such as this needs a well sorted event flow. Strict policing of the competition area is needed, is possible and should be done. If need be and inspite repeated warnings about refraining from dangerous riding, the biggest ass can be made an example case by summarily chucking him out.Originally posted by Synn View PostOk guys, calm down. Crashes are a real posibility but the accompanying injuries are not a necessity. Knowing they were holding a 'speed' competition and also knowing the rider awareness level in our environment, it was Yamaha's prerogative not just to provide a platform for competetion but also to use it to further the cause of safe riding. And a free for all on improvised tarmac with bikes capable of 'killing' speeds is not anyone's idea of responsibility.
I just hope commercial interests do not conflict with the need to remove this resurgent specter of 'blood and gore' that motorcycling has come to be associated with. And major players in the filed like yamaha in this case really need a deep though before mixing the 'gladiators' with the 'kamikaze's' on track.
