the roads out in Kodaikanal are nice. but trouble starts from Athirapally to Valparai.. a lot of potholes and its time consuming. Do watch out for elephants in that route. a bit of a foresty area.
From valparai to pollachi, twisties, twisties, twisties... again, do watch out for bisons and elephants.
Pollachi to Coimbatore is a nice highway, can rip.
From Coimbatore to Mettupalayam, the roads are worse if u take the normal route.. but u can bypass by riding through a place Annur... its fast and buttersmooth... one zip...
mettupalayam to Ooty, personally i would prefer riding through Coonoor. both are equally super...the Mtp-kotagiri has only a few hairpin bends while the Coonoor route offers 14 breathtaking hairpin bends with a real riding through the forest experience..
On the other hand, Kodanad view point is in Kotagiri, so if ur planning to visit it, then the other route would do justice..
In coonoor, u have places like lamb's rock, dolphin nose, Sim's park, golf courses, Avalanchi, Emerald, Upper Bhavani, Parson's Valley,.. Also, historic places like Lady Canning's Seat, the MRC, war memorial, etc..
Ooty has Doddabetta, pykara lake, waterfalls with a boating area.. can also visit Western Catchment if permission from authorities are obtained.
Plus, each area has a local hangout.. you know, having a beer on a chilly evening inside a forest covered by mist..
Also, do watch out for elephants in the MTP-kotagiri or the coonoor route up the ghats.. a lot of elephant trouble recently. strong word of caution.
Regarding accomodation, I guess, u would find hotels or lodges for every budget along the way.
but if u need to book rooms in advance from Coimbatore-Ooty, do let me know.Let me know whats the game plan in Coimbatore and Ooty, we will plan something out...

To sum it up, these are a few things what I can offer on my behalf. Do let me know if I can be of further assistance bro.

will post it all once i receive.
