Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        • I always wanted to buy and restore an RX100 and plonk in a 5 speed box. In fact i though about it after i came back to India. But didn't have clue then on how to go about it as i had also lost touch with all my mechanic's. Now i am thinking.. why not?

I actually started a thread on the same to be precise.

I feel we must cross the border or any 1st town in KA before 7-8am max. Bcos these are the places with the maximum intensity of the cauvery issue. Moreover there will be very less people on roads and we can avoid unwanted attention....Just my thoughts.

Yes, you are right, but we are going to travel all along the sensitive area till Mysore! Starting earlier is better. More than that maintaining the appropriate speed is highly important since we have to reach the Point B,C,D as per schedule.

I guess the speed part could be increased than the stipulated speed limits we have set ourselves. But I guess once we start our engines, for the ride, more or less we are gonna break the speed barrier unanimously.

If you go back a few pages, I myself had a stint on the RX, well, after years, and it was just bliss. I was so "F***D" by RX that I wanted to sell one of my bike just for an RX. But then there is always, ifs and buts...

Thought for a while, won't be practical for my use, plus the spares availability as Ram and others mentioned. Oodles of people have the RX those who know the value and those who doesn't, but still it's a fantastic machine.

Ram and a few more members have spent a significant part of their moolah, time and energy in constructing a machine that they can flaunt and it's an absolute treat to watch them ride their machines. Not just moolah, their heart and soul into it and it clearly reflects.

If you think you can do the same, Ram and others will be always glad to help.

P.S. Me still looking for a good deal, on the RX

              Cheers!

It's not about anything Vijay, it's about commitment of keeping her safe till I'm able to move my feel & limbs...More than the Moolah..my mind was always pondering around spares shop where ever I travel that could be of any use for my RX and now the RXZ too..! In spite of having contacts till Singapore, it's sad to say that genuine spares availability is very less and only a trained eye can judge the differences plus add the highly inflated prices. Restoring a RX to factory fit & finish is still a dream for many. Anyways, after taking a lot of beating in the restoration, learning some hard lessons, losing money that one couldn't imagine of, have built up so..much of confidence that given any RX series bike i can set an example for restoration....

@ the Strokers, coming to the kind of spares that we are supposed to carry, here's a rough list that I thought of putting it up. Pls. feel free to add any if I had forgotten something..

                6. Spark Plugs with Plug gap checked - for 4S - 0.7 to 0.8mm , 5S- 0.6 to 0.7 mm. 100 can use 4S plug without any issues (Carry Minimum of 2 plugs NGK BPR7HS or Mico W5BC)

Yes, you are right, but we are going to travel all along the sensitive area till Mysore! Starting earlier is better. More than that maintaining the appropriate speed is highly important since we have to reach the Point B,C,D as per schedule.

Dpak, yes as you said we can maintain good speed when the traffic interference is less... when we get stuck with the traffic we have to definitely slow down so we should balance the time.... For sensitive areas we can split into small groups and move and will rejoin in a common point... Hope the problem will diffuse before the ride...

Ram Ji do we need 2 ltrs of gear oil for each bike...
Clutch cable , Accelerator cable, Spark plugs, tube, front brake cable, Choke cable can carry in common for 2 strokes except Shoalin cos it differs from RX.

Sampath Ji put up the thread link which you started for getting a RX 100 and converting it to 5 speed so we can discuss more in detail .. If you want to restore a bike completely my advice is to procure a very low budget RX and restore it according to what you wish...
