Hi everybody, I am Siddarth from Peelamedu , I am new to forums let alone XBHP.. But been owning a duke for more than a year now. Have been riding alone and long. Would love to join the Coimbatore group here in Xbhp and keep on riding!!

Welcome to the Coimbatore chapter. Stay with this thread for upcoming rides and updates. We are planning for a 1 day ride in August and you can can join for the ride ( but it doesn't makes you as confirmation for joing ISG2G ). You need to attend 2-3 rides with the group to join for big rides as ISG2G.

Will post the dates for Aug by this weekend.

Gear Up Riders, September is here and the ISG2G is just around the corner.

As most of the new members have completed the Pre-Ride earlier, I would not be going into much details about group riding, gears etc as Ram & Karthi must have briefed you guys already. This group has been growing year after year and this year we would be around 16 members representing Coimbatore.

The 16 member group has both TWO and FOUr Stroke bikes, so we will be dividing the group into TWO.

1) TWO STROKES ( SLOW & STEADY)
2) FOUR STROKES ( FAST & FURIOUS)

THE TWO STROKE GANG

1) Ram
2) Karthi
3) Suru
4) Dinesh
5) Maddy
6) Mithun


THE FOUR STROKE GANG

1) Josh
2) Arun
3) Illango
4) Gopi
5) Selva
6) Muthukumar
7) Mahesh
8) Iniyavan
9) Shiva
10) Rakesh

Both these groups will ride separately and will be meeting at Sulthan Bathery and ride together to the Resort. Requesting all members to deposit the Resort charges etc to Karthi asap and get your final confirmation for the ride.

The Four Stroke group will be led by ME and the ride plan, rider positions etc will be discussed on the XBHP whats app group before finalizing and posting here.

Karthi will lead the TWO stroke gang.

Please get your vehicle checked and serviced, your riding gears ready and all your vehicle documents including your vehicle PUC ready.

All documents will be checked prior to the ride so please sort out everything to avoid last minute disappointment.

So finally the plan is ready..

The Four stroke gang will be riding the Ooty - Madumalai - Masinagudi - Bandipur - Gundulpet - Wayanad route.

Pollachi team and Tirupur team will meet at Kovai Dept Stores in Tirupur at 6.45 am on the 12th Sept.

Coimbatore team of four strokes meet us at the Annur Bus stand at 7.30 am.

First Tea Break @ Breeze land hotel opp black thunder in Mettupalayam.

Breakfast will be at Ooty @ Hotel Durga.

Third Break will be at Gundulpet and straight to Resort. We will meet the two stroke gang in Sultan Bathery and ride to resort together.

Return journey is via C.nagara and Sathy for both groups.

I have little knowledge about the place, so would like your inputs about various things, like the place to stay where I can rent out a room. Below is the final ride plan.


We will leave from Tirupur at 7am.
Annur - 7.30 am
Mettupalayam - 8.30.
Tea break at Breeze land for 30 mins
Ooty - 10 am breakfast break for half hour
Bandipur - 12 pm
Gundulpet - 12.45 pm.

We will meet the SS group at Gundulpet and ride together to Wayanad.


Now that the route is final and the ride plan is also worked out..its time for the rider positions and few basic rules.

Rider Positions F&F group

1) Josh ( Lead )
2) Arun
3) Muthukumar
4) Gopi
5) Shiva
6) Selva
7) Rakesh
8) Illango
9) Iniyavan
10) Mahesh ( Sweep)

Riders please note ur positions. The above list is made keeping in mind that every new rider in the group has someone in the front and back with more experience and better coordination.

We will be most of the time riding in a single file so pls follow lane and group discipline.

Do not overtake the rider ahead of u or fall behind the rider next to u under any circumstances.

If any emergency like a phone call or vehicle trouble then you are supposed to give prior signal and approach the lead and inform before stopping.

Whenever we are stopping on the highway for directions or phone call or any such reason make sure u park ur bikes in a single line as per ur positions. NO parallel parking to be done at all.

If at all there is bike trouble and is time consuming then depending on the situation the group would be further divided and except one or two riders rest of the group will follow plan and ride with a new lead and sweep.

As most of u'll are aware of group riding ethics now after ur pre-ride I would like to inform that NO hand signals will be passed frequently. Only emergency signals like speed breakers, sudden traffic, overtaking or stopping will be passed.

Each rider keep ur hearing, visual and thinking powers in extra cautious modes.

Frequent hand signals for minor attention has caused a few mishaps earlier and we do not want any such chances.

We are riding in a group but again each rider is on his own so please use ur head than wandering ur minds in sight seeings thinking u will be cautioned by the rider ahead of u.


One major problem with many group riders is of Tail gating. I.e riding very close to the rider ahead of u.. Almost on his back..
Please maintain safe distance between riders.. This way in case of emergency braking everyone in the group is safe.


One very very important point.

Now that every one has phone locked with a password and in case of any mishap it becomes almost impossible for anyone to open a phone lock and call the family or friends of the rider.

Each rider has to give contact number of one person with name and relation to be contacted in emergency along with ur blood group.

This list will be with the lead.

Also please inform ur parents or guardians about ur trip and plans.

I have come across people who have lied at home about their bike trip and met with an accident resulting in major problems for both the group as well as family members.

Please PM me the name, number and relation of the person along with ur blood group for emergency purpose.

Need the above details latest by tomorrow. Need contact info of person who is not riding in the group.. Someone who is at ur home town Mobile or Land line number.
