I have been really watching this thread and really really itching to apply for the ride.
But I wouldnt be able to come for this ride due to personal reasons (I am getting married on 13 Nov).

But Aryan Da and Ken Da, its really a very nice initiative. It will help grow the bond among the new members and also give them a chance to gain respect in the eyes of accomplished riders like you.
AHH! I am so disapointed I am missing this chance.

But my best wishes to you all for this trip.

I would love take my chance sometime later.

Good to see people participating in the thread, atleast. It would make our job tougher (to choose), which is a good thing, actually.

now this thread is shaping up really good, and am happy to see my name mentioned in the probables list. Time to take care of a few things now.

The folowing list should also be useful to other new tourers (I learnt about this from MG and Aryan in discussions about their trips)

                          1) Service the Bike shortly before the tour.
                          2) Carry spare set of accel cable and clutch cable.
                          3) Double Check Headlamp
                          4) Triple check both brakes
                          5) Check tyres (more applicable to me, despite less mileage on the odo, the life of the tyres is drawing to a close because of the total time they've been on.)
                          6) Get KneeGuards.
Torque nut in the land of horsepower worshippers.

@Psycho: Yup, these points are invaluable before a trip (short or long).
@Rachit: Congratulations on getting married. I am sure we'll be having such long rides regularly now. I hope you would be a part of such a ride in the future.
                            :)

I'll gather up plenty of newbies for you guys alongwith a list of 'hilly' destinations

P.S: Chalk my name up as the first entrant for the backup 'Newbie intro ride'...
                              @Ken and Aryan..

Good to see you guys have come up with such ideas. I liked this idea and i think all the states should come up with this kind of idea. (if possible)

                              P.S.
Maverick knows only how to ride in Nandi Hills and no where else so even him as a back up in the "Newbie intro ride" will be at your risk

@ Maverick....Why dont you take such initiative for Blr guys call up John and fix this up

This is a really nice initiative by Ken Da and Aryan. Whats more pleasurable than a sojourn to the mountains, with all the elements of nature so close to you.

If i may suggest, it would be better to take the uninitiated riders to quiet and relatively traffic free place like lansdowne rather than the innova/indica infested shimla/nainital. A traffic free place would be excellent for learning smooth and consistent cornering and maintaining ones lines on the twisties.
