RX & Shivanshu: I have a suggestion here. A single group of more than 6-8 riders becomes unwieldy large and attracts undue attention on the road. Also, riders in a group have a tendency to try and stick together as a group and this tendency can at times go against rider safety as the road and traffic conditions may not allow such a large group to remain together all the time.

Splitting, say 10-12 riders into two smaller groups of 5-6, each with its own leader, would make things more manageable and safer. Also tell all riders to keep their headlamps switched on at low beam all the time they are riding. This allows each rider to easily locate the group members coming up behind him and the light also makes the rider more easily visible to other road users.

Each rider should be responsible for the one riding immediately behind him (his wingman). It is not difficult to keep one rider in view in the RVM and this mutual monitoring dispenses with the need for a dedicated sweeper. A good leader is enough for 5-6 riders provided they trust and follow him. Anyone finding his wingman lagging or missing can attract attention of those ahead by flashing lights and blowing the horn.

Also the two smaller groups can travel about a kilometer or two apart. Pre-decided meet-up points and the use of cell-phones precludes everyone hanging on to the tails of the group in front. 5-6 riders, in proper riding gear and showing impeccable road discipline are a sight that will be admired rather than looked at suspiciously as a gang of hoodlums on prowl.

RX, RohitMundra and Me have decided to plan up things accordingly. And yes Sir your sub-groups is a very practical thing to do. It was also said by Rohit.

Thanks a lot for this valuable tip. Yes sir, I already had similar things in mind. Small group being lead by members. Positions being fixed. We will definitely not follow riding formation if the road becomes congested, narrow but ofcourse keep a check on all the riders who would doing that ride. Lights will remain on for every riders. Thanks a lot sir for these tips !

@organizers: On Saturday, please post the FINAL list of confirmed riders on this thread. Also, please PM me the list along with the cellphone numbers of the members. This ride will decide a couple of things which I have on my mind, for the Delhi xBhp chapter.

A Note To All:
Saturday afternoon/ early evening would be the time limit to confirm your presence for the ride. Do not apply for the ride after the said time, as it becomes difficult to accommodate all. Future rides will be happening in the Delhi chapter which would enable other riders to participate there.

If any outsider is joining in for the ride, please note that it would be the sole responsibility of the xBhp member to brief them beforehand about proper riding on the highway/ city, and not performing any kind of hooliganism/ stunts, etc. Also, make sure that each member is wearing a proper helmet, with other riding gears, if possible.

wasn't noted for the newbies ride to Shimla(don't know why)...hope the same thing doesn't happens with me this time...

i am ready with all my originals n the gears i have n sleeplessly waiting for the sunshine of 7th to kick my bike n have this ride...lets see if moods count me IN...
