      • The Motive is to cover almost every flavor of Photography like Nature, Wildlife, Cityscape, Portraits, Macro, Astro-graphy, Moto-graphy, etc.
      • The Task is to Identify locations throughout MumBai (like Powai-Vihar Lake, Yeoor Hills, SGNP, MNP, Gorai, Various Forts & Historical Monuments, Sewri & Airoli Wetlands, popular tourist locations like GOI, etc) where we can meet up and spend an Evening or early Morning together, clicking our hearts out. Occasional Breakfasts or Dinners may follow.

PS : Non-DSLR Camera owners with any decent Digital Camera can also participate.
@All photography enthusiasts ... First session of Click-O-Graphy G2Gs would be held at Yeoor Hills on 18th June, 2011 (Saturday) at 7am sharp. A very talented photographer & adventurer Ravi Vaidyanathan would also be joining us.

Had gone there last week, to visit dhamni you need some kind of a visitors pass. The government body incharge of those dams has an office in some town approx 8-10kms from dhamini and that's where you can get the passes. This is what the guard at dhamini told us, we skipped it. At kawdas there was no guard, just locals and the gate was open so we just rode inside, just before the main dam wall there is an offroading trail to the left we tried that too... Why don't you try "vaitarna lake >> tansa bhatsa" instead, we had no issues like above at these locations.

Details for already visited similar locations are in my earlier post.

at the junction of tansa, there is a board directing 2 ways to ModakSagar and Tansa...have you been on that way??I was there at Tansa but due to lack of time I returned back..if yes, reply regarding road-conditions to modaksagar..

even Tansa dam-site is not allowed to visit without permission but as we do over there, Dhamni can be visited with some off-roading..

Why do I get the feeling Sachin Nair's PJs killed everyone's spirit I'm j/k! Good to know they had a safe ride overall. They haven't posted any pics yet though (or mebbe I just haven't seen them)! I should give them some gyaan on the importance of real time news

I have heard the same thing. Just like Vihar lake in Mumbai, Tansa-Bhatsa which are major suppliers of water to Mumbai and suburbs are barred from civilian visits due to security reasons. During our Trimbakeshwar road trip we did visit upper-Vaitarna, it was an awesome sight !

Thanks for the coordinates but they point to some "surya nagar road" near kawdas. I was asking about dhamni. The gate for dhamini is here. From the gate, the road that goes ahead is the road to dhamni village which we didn't explore. I see two trails in satellite view. First is on the road to dhamni and the second is on the road towards jawhar. Will try these next time...
