Sorry, replying late to this...Originally posted by Centaur View PostWe've gone for rides with Passions, Unicorns, FZs and Dazzlers.... so what's the problem with the 200s?
The problem is not as much with the P200 but what its wheels are shod with...The Nylogrip Zapper offers as much grip as nylon on glass. Just recently braked a wee bit hard on smooth paver blocks while entering the parking lot at the mall and the rear locked up and fishtailed to dramatically announce my arrival to the security guard there.
edit: Had budgeted for change of rubber to Michelin Sirac or PSD , but had to instead divert funds to clutchplate change
Oh and last year the bike just refused to start and grounded itself for almost 3 weeks in monsoon. That sensor (BCU) + only electric start is what I fear may ground me this season. Otherwise the handling is not an issue
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
By the way, had a few queries from the audience side about the Velneshwar ride-
- What was the average speed of the group, including whymail :P ? If Captain Slow was crusing at 60kmph while others go hell for leather at 120, doesn't make for a group ride per se, na?

- Was there any kind of formation or batches that enabled a rider to get help from fellow members in case of any trouble?
- Didn't see much pics of riders 'in motion'. Any good Samaritan shutterbugs to wait at checkpoints and click?
- And whose GT 650N is that??

Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
So many posts about riding speeds, rather good to see that. Just want to tell you all, we don't decide the riding speeds before ride.
don't worry if you are a slow rider..... Rest assured you won't be left alone.
people in front will stop for regrouping after regular intervals. Ride safe

Hello all xbhpians,
Nice to see all here,
following this post since couple of weeks.
Count me IN for the next ride. As I don't have riding gears and currently running in period, so can't make it for Sula vines.
All the best guys.

Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
DeVille : yes my average speed was 60. But that is because I ride at that pace @ which my bike "feels" most comfortable to ride & the engine feels least stressed.
For my bike in its current form, this threshold is 60-70kmph. (For r15 or ns200 this might be 100 & for ninja or st7 this might be 150 so on n so forth.)
Others were going at their own pace even in ghats & open roads & rightfully so... That's what we all are on the road for B-)
I really didn't & would not worry about the speed, since all these fellow riders were kind enough to halt n wait for me to arrive @ several navpoints along the way - infact on various occasions when I was lagging way too behind, some of them turned back n came scouting for me just to ensure that everything was all right.
I am glad n impressed by the entire groups empathy even toward the slowest rider of the pack - me :-)
Hell, these folks pull over to check if everything is ok, even if a member of the group pulls over at the road side for a bio break or to have a fag or to make a call... Ain't seen that kind of companionship even in seasoned riders in decades of my riding... These are good folks to be with...
That being said... I completely agree to what saurabhjd has mentioned... I would not really bother about speed... I wud rather enjoy the journey instead.
As for fotos of machines n guys in action... I think u shud click some snaps this time around ;-)

Yes, that is the right attitude...wasn't suggesting deciding riding speeds, though some clubs do that to curb on adventurous sprinters.
Thanks for elaborating! My bike has a similar comfort speeds as it shares the same mill, above that the vibes make their presence felt. But as have lately tried it crosses triple-digit speeds w/out feelin like I'm riding an Apache :P (Just kidding- no offence to Apache riders)Originally posted by whymail View Post@DeVille : yes my average speed was 60. Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
Kind of formation, mini groups, leader riders, tail gunners all these things are decided at the meeting point when we see the actual number of people who come for the ride...
Just keep in mind following things,
Fuel up day before the ride
Reach on meeting point at designated time
We are here to ride on road not rule the road.. so always make way for other traffic
Don't get intimidated by road side rossie's
Also those who will be joining from Kalyan point kindly confirm same here..Last edited by viraj_s85; 06-01-2013, 03:30 AM.

George sir / Nicks - Ride will commence in less than 24 hours and your still in tentative
