                • @icemang : ha ha ha maneesh-babu... humko retire kar diye aap?

so FINALLY a Bonnie eh... Jai ho, Jai ho, Jai ho...

as for riding... daily commute & weekend breakfast rides to charoti, malshej, nagar, amby valley, pune, panchgani, igatpuri, dasturi, daman, silvassa, shirdi keep happening almost every weekend.

usually start off early & am back home by noon to tend to Ramugiri that all married guys do, on Saturdays & Sundays. i also do once-a-week quick spin to charoti in the nights, on those rare days when i am home early from work.

a long weekend in August - 15~17 - will prolly see me sucking suds & chilling out @ Love-Peace-Karma & Anjuna Beach, Goa

that aside... yeah i hardly ride at all anymore

@Sird : couple of friends [the shurikens] were @ lons yesterday [sunday] & although they claimed that the weather was great, there were no rains... bone dry ride they all had in cloudy weather

Open Invitation - 4th Tour by "Wheelz n Roadz Bikers"

                    Shivneri Fort

                    20th July 2014

Shivneri Fort (शिवनेरी किल्ला) is a 17th-century military fortification located near Junnar. It is the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Maratha Empire. Shahaji, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’s father, was a general in the army of the Adil Shah, Sultan of Bijapur. He was concerned for the safety of his wife Jijabai during her pregnancy as there was constant warfare going on. He therefore moved his family to Shivneri fort. Shivneri is a highly defensible location, with steep rocks on four sides and a strongly built citadel.
Chhatrapati Shivaji was born at the fort on 19 February 1630, and spent his childhood there.he got his name SHIVBA here. Inside the fort is a small temple dedicated to the goddess Shivai Devi, after whom Shivaji was named.
There are statues of Jijabai and young Shivaji. At the centre of the fort is a water pond which is called 'Badami Talav'. To the South of 'Badami Talav' are the statues Jijabai and a young Shivaji Maharaj. In the fort there are two water springs, called Ganges and Yamuna, which have water throughout the year. Two kilometers away from this fort there are the Lenyadri caves which is one of Ashtavinayak temple in Maharashtra. It has been declared as a protected monument.
There are many gates structures protecting this fort. Mana daravaja ( Gate ) is one of the many gates on shivneri fort.

                    Total Distance of Tour:
330 KM total, 165 each side.

Hi, there to all the xbhpians. Me and my friends are planning for a weekend in the beginning of august. We have short listed two destinations Bhandardara and Saputara but are confused where to go between two. What does you guys suggest Bhandardara or Saputara. Any other good monsoon getaways within 250 kms of mumbai. I have been to Malshej ghat, Lonavala-Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Matheran lots of times so omit these places from the list. Want to explore some new places. I hope there will be lots of reply. Thanks in advance.

Yes bhandardara is lovely in monsoon. As mentioned above, the road will be in bad shape as its interior. But totally worth it. 60-70% you will ride on super smooth road (NH3) which includes the awesome kasara ghat as well.
Saputara doesnt have much to offer IMHO. You planning a day or overnight ride?

                            EDIT :
Some other day ride options are : Dabhosa Falls, Tamhini,
