Me and my friends were busy bursting fire crackers till late night yesterday as it was last day of Diwali.Though I dont burst crackers, I enjoy being there and watching them. I used to do that a lot earlier.. Not any more...
So coming back to the business, once we were done with it Umesh and I went to a nearby restro as we were hungry. There all of sudden we had the same idea in our mind. "Let's go for a ride somewhere." Time was around 12-12.15 am. We quickly went home, grabbed our jackets helmets and gloves and headed straight to gas station to tank up.
Finally we started our journey at around 1 am. Absobloodylutely fantastic time and climate to start an unplanned ride. Nice and cool with hardly any traffic on road. We headed towards Chembur. We started feeling the cold immediately. It was really great especially during this scorching October heat.
Speeds were quite high and in no time we reached the Auto Bahn - the Palm Beach Road. What a marvelous piece of stretch it is. Not a single - NOT A SINGLE vehicle on a glass finish, well lit up and divided 12-13 km patch of road. Ripped the shit out the bike. Continued towards Panvel. When we reached the start point of JNPT, it looked shit scary
Not a single soul and completely dark road. Phewww.. Kept riding on and on and on till we reached NH4 junction. Chose NH4 over NH17 and started ripping towards Lonavala.. I remember the clock showed 1.30 am when we hit NH4. Very very few cars on the highway and only those 8 wheelers and 16 wheeler high killers plying on the road. That asshole started whispering ghost stories and all sorts shit..

After riding in the bone chilling cold climate we reached the Lonavala ghat. That was even scarier...
and the temperature dropped even further down. But as soon as we hit expressway, temperature rose to a comfortably high level. We again noticed the drop in temp as we left the expressway for Lonavala exit. Our destination was Lonavala's RK hotel...which by the time we reached there was shut down..
But surprisingly there were lot of tapris serving fantabulstic Omlet Pav and hot cuppa tea. We had our feast on the Omlet pav and had 2 cups of tea each. Just as we were finishing our food, one guy stopped at the same tapri, may be after seeing our bike. He was a bulletier with awesome leather jacket and lot of luggage tucked behind, riding solo. When I talked to him, came to know that he was returning to Pune from Gujrat.
Just after 5-7 minutes a group of 6 riders on 3 Apache RTRs arrived at the same tapri and what a surprise. One of them was my friend. Had some chat there at 2.30 am
and finally umesh and I decided to roll by 2.51 am(I remember the exact time) Bidding gud bye to everyone we hit the road again.. Return journey was more or less the same with high speeds, lonely and scary highways and very cold breeze. Reached Palm Beach road at sharp 4 am. Took a su su break there and continued the ride. Once in Dadar, we went straight to Shivaji park instead of home and took some rest on the kattah. Wow, how peaceful the park was.. Got up at 5 am and went to a near by chai walah. Had one more hot cuppa tea and went home. Slept only for 2.5 hrs and got up to get back to work..

Awesome... Hell of an experience.. Superb..
Am sure we gonna do the same sorta ride very soon.. Just can't forget that taste of Omlet..
Will drop an sms to everyone if we decide do something like that again. You are most welcome if you can manage to come at that time.. Thanx for reading this...
