Guess who's back! back again!

we reached last night! rode all the way from udaipur to mumbai! fun, crazy, bun 'warming' stuff!

oh thats great.. so how many days you stayed there. Did you stay in proper Udaipur. I was there at Mt. Abu on Sat-Sun & then left for gandhinagar.
The climate was just superb. Well, am working on my log & pix, what about you

my short log

a 22 day vacation from office.. during the best climate of the year, december.. what more can i ask for?

ditched flight travel since i was afraid after hearing all those news channels about the crashes/flights on fire even before take off/pilot-hostess fight in the mid air so thought of riding home on my steed!

just the day before the start of journey (mumbai - coimbatore), my bike had a heart operation since it was leaking oil from the top of the engine. was really worried about it since, the next day i had to do a mumbai-bangalore run non-stop! thanks to the TVS svc that they have fixed my bike top-notch!

could not sleep in the night since i had planned to start early by 4:30am to avoid the traffic. spark, i started reading one of my academic book from college, and bang in 5mins i was snoring for good!

my phone woke me up at 3:45am.. freshened up, saddled up in few mins. 4:15am, totally foggy inside the aarey colony.. kept riding and managed to cross lonavala in 80 mins.. thought of stopping by to get cash since i forgot to get it the previous day and missed the ATM's since the whole town was empty without any life!

was thinking of stopping by chandini chowk, missed that too.. with just 100 bucks in the pocket i badly wanted to find an ATM.. crossed pune by the bypass and ended up going inside some small town (karve rd) to find an ATM.. first stop of the ride.. had a nice cupa chai and was back on the road.. crossed satara, and was little hesitating to have breakfast since what ever goes in has to come out rite? so skipped it.. stopped somewhere near karad to fill up the bike and munched few ParleG biscuits.. second stop of the ride.. i was literally vibrating because of riding RTR for long and i could see the ripples in the water bottle i was holding in my hand finished up fast and was on the road back again.

decided to cover the bad stretch after hubli in day light i was not in a mood to get off from my bike.. kept on riding, covered the bad stretch and reached tumkur.. a 20 min break with few biscuits and a slice and a bottle of water totally de-hydrated so excuse.. people were asking where r u coming from? i told them "from mumbai", they replied with wide open mouth "gaadi pe?".. i said yeah.. then they asked when did i start and i replied "suba chaar baje".. they all with a grim on the face, "jute mat bolna bhiya".. i was like and thinking that what would these guys do if they hear about the saddle sore people bid adieu to them and reached banglore comfortably in the day light.. 14.5 hrs and 1050kms from mumbai.. felt good!

Some update..

Me,Bibek and Shadowboy..just did a ride to HAMPI over the weekend.
Started on ..Saturday 4 am reached Hampi around 9 Pm (took some nasty route NH13)
Roamed Gokak falls and Hampi...Superb place i say
Return Journey started on .. 6 Pm Sunday,reached Mumbai at 6 am.
@ Office right now..feeling very sleepy

2009 TRIP LOG'ed

2009 TRIP LOG'ed by Mumbai xbhp'ians...

So the year 2009 ended up getting most of the Mumbai xbhp'ians Riding up to their himetown or on some big long rides...
Here's a rough List.

Spiderweb (dats me), Beruoist & Razorblades, all 3 rode down to their hometown, Nagpur, Bhopal n Bangy respectively.
Each destination 1000+ kms.

Razor, Rachit n Winzee did Leh'ed.

Anup n Satyen did Rajasthan.

Rachit, Spiderweb, Razorblades & Shiva chilled out in Goa.

Ketan, Darkknight & Spiderweb attempted Bun Burner 2500, riding all the way down to Chennai.

Beruoist, Shadowboy n Bibek witnessed Hampi.

Spiderweb, Cosgeo, Shiva, Winzee & Rachit went to Mt.Abu.

Thats all I remember, plz add more if I missed any.

My broadband @home died, but I have got my laptop to Pune so might be writing some stuff, but looks like it will be posted only by the weekend when I am back in Mumbai! Am sure Anup is cooking his log like a pro, he has a LOT of stuff about this elusive ride!

and BTW does riding to Pune and back count as 'trips' :P

And have done my 1st trip of 2010 as well. Rode to the hallowed Lavasa!
