I wanna do this too! But not with those sickly Zappers that have zilch ability on non-roads.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

                  • Just sharing an interesting find..specially for the tourer breed..!

                    WINE YOUR WAY THROUGH 2010

If a weekend break means wining, dining and snoozing, you have just discovered a gem in a hugely unlikely village called, Narayangaon. Welcome to Champagne Indage

Once youve made up your mind that the weekend shall rhyme with wine, all it takes is to get on the old Mumbai-Pune Road and keep going. Head straight for Narayangaon from the Alandi Bypass on NH 50 and you are on your way to booze town.

The roads arent the best ever but then, you are making your way to Chougules Chateau Indage and that should be reason enough to smile. You will hit several villages on the way - the entry-and-exit in three minutes kinds. Keep going , till you reach Narayangaon - the biggest of them all. Imagine, this one even has a theatre! Stop for some Nashik special missal-pao and then, head along. As you speed along the highway for another four km, you will screech to a halt seeing an Ivy restaurant. Make prior reservations here and you can avail of decent accommodation at the Champagne Indage guesthouse, nestled 500 metres within the vineyards.
Get your stuff and snuggle into warm blankets for a Saturday afternoon siesta. Wake luxuriously at around 6 pm, lounge in a hot shower and then, as dusk falls, head along to Ivy. The lovely restaurant and wine bar is as buzzing here as in Mumbai or Pune. Warm service encourages you to order any wine you choose. Take your pick (a bottle is a better option over a glass) and settle in for the evening with your company.

Watch the stars come out and simply relax. We would recommend a couple of starters - the fried cashew nuts are a crunchy deal with any wine, while the cheese-and-pineapple is as fresh a flavour as the one in your glass. If you are the carnivorous type, they have a great range of pahadi kebabs and others of the meaty variety. Finally, its time for dinner. Let your inhibitions down and dont really bother if you are pairing an Ivy White Zinfandel with your assorted kebab platter, Chantilli Shiraz with the roganjosh and pudina paratha, an Ivy Chenin Muscat with your delicious masala khichdi or finally, a Riviera Pinot Noir with gulab jamuns. The next morning, after toast, eggs and wine of course, head for a winery tour. Indages 4,000 acres produce 27 varietals since its inception in 1982. The wineries have a capacity of 50 lakh cases a year. Again, understand the procedures of winemaking and then head for a tasting. A six-wine tasting , including their latest Tiger Hill produce, is a fine induction programme.

I choose my Tiger Hill, what they claim is Indias first rose champagne , and settle down for another relaxing evening amidst acres of vineyards , the music of crickets and my bubbly for company.
