                • Rode to the CITY I HATE the MOST() yesterday. For the first time I rode a P220 DTS-Fi for such a long distance. And what a nice experience it was.

                  A few things I noticed..

                  Ohh so good things:

All I can say is Bow down and respect that torque.. I like it especially because am an R15 owner No matter what gear you are in or what speed you are at, just wring the bloody throttle and you automatically find yourself in the power band of the bike. Wow So little gear shifting.

Rode with THE BEST lighting combination I've ever come across after the R1's headlights. P220 projectors with Raylux HIDs worth 6.3K Trust me, it was like carrying your own small Sun with you at night was loving the reactions on the face of fellow road users especially cars

Bike felt quite stable in heavy cross winds on expressway. may be coz of the heavy weight

LOVED TO THE CORE the growling and howling of the 220 cc engine with pipercross performance air filter It was sweet music inside the helmet. And it was also inviting lot of street racing losers on Pune streets for traffic light GPs

Things I missed of my R15

Missed the fantastically comfortable seat. My saddle was sore even before I reached Khopoli It's just a matter of getting used to. Not to mention I was once an owner of P200 But because of that up-straight seating position no wrist pain at all which I come across on my R15

That little refinement. Bike was giving jerks in traffic at crawling speeds after a full day's running. Again, may be I wasn't used to the clutch setting I guess.

Gears are rock hard Believe it or not even after a full day's ride I wasn't able to find the neutral in one go R15's gears are butter smooth

After using those Volvo B7R's mirrors on R15, I was left with very limited view on 220's RVMs. At night it was even worst. Due to fairing vibrations, mirrors were vibrating so badly making the view blur. Many times I mistook a two wheeler for 4 wheeler due to blurred headlights

Though the projector with HID set was THE BEST I've ever seen till date, I was mostly forced to use only one of the 2 beams. Because once you switch the beam, those HIDs take time to heat up and glow in full power. So for those 2-3 seconds you are left with very little light. I guess the twin beam setup should solve this problem.

Like R15's, the digital fuel meter was in a mood to make fun of me.

Anyways, Thanks a lot Mandar and Ajinkya for the help Really appreciate that.

                    Nice to read the comparo!
Waise the digital fuel meter in almost all bikes will show you wrong reading if you park it on side stand, or you switch the bike on while its still leaning...

(doing it on mainstand or without any lean would mean that the readings are farily accurate!)

Psssst: Anyone in Mumbai Pune willing to lend me a 220 too, I am bike less for this week! So can do with a small ride on it back home!

Hmm..was aware of it a bit. On my R15, while running with 2 sticks of fuel, when I break hard the reserve counter starts off Then riding on straight road again for some time stops the reserve fuel's blinking bar. grrrr..

Even yesterday, very close to Mumbai I was running with 3 sticks of fuel on 220 and just after a coupla kms I looked down to see only one stick and the red reserve mode light On. I was like.. Found a petrol pump near Chembur and filled in 100 bucks of petrol but still the reserve light was On

Anyways, the bike had clocked 26K but still was in mint condition Very well maintained Ajinkya
