Jaipur..It's beauty lies on the Historic forts.Of course short of time. But gave it a whole day.Visited Amer fort,Jaigad Fort,Jal mahal (from far),Hawa Mahal and City palace.
Amer fort and City palace was bit overcrowded.

          Cheers

                Yep.

Am just thinking whether to give my bike for 2nd service on Sat or do it after the ride. Am at 2.7K on the ODO now. Any tips?

                • have u completed the 100 days?? or does the bike seem harsh?? if yes then do it...i guess after the ride u will have completed 3k kms...then u definitely will have to give it...

                  • Did 1st service just 20 days back at 1034 KM, didnt even realise how much I was riding around the the past three weeks. Still a loooong way to go for 100 days.

Bike seems fine, just a bit of clutch slippage when shifting down (but very manageable). Only I haven't lubed the chain since service and dont wanna cause to much stress to my baby so in two minds about whether to give it for servicing now.

                    • BUT the road close to Kasara gets beautiful and the Kasara ghat. Oh Boy.. it's a dream for every biker. AMAZING QUALITY..FLAT AND SMOOTH, TARMAC ROAD NO CEMENT SO EXCELLENT GRIP, ONE WAY TRAFFIC WHICH MEANS LESS RISKY, LONG LOOONG SWEEPING TURNS AND SOME TIGHT CORNERS... To add to it awesome vista alongside. It's just dream.. Perfect recipe for some knee down action. Besides there's not much traffic either. I loved the experience to the core.
And when I was screaming that in people's ears nobody believed me. X-( Everyone wanted to go to Lavasa or some other ghat!

Please remember that you are going to ride with some rippers. That means they ride at speeds in excess of 110kmph. Someone is bound to get itchy in the middle of the road and start doing Valentino Rossi impressions out of nowhere. Even though it sounds cool, please resist doing that and stick around guys who'll ride at around 80 kmph for your own safety. Also mind your speed in the ghats after Khopoli. You NEVER know when your bike might give in to the gravel around U-Turns and tight corners. I know the R15 is one of the best bikes when it comes to handling, but still, be prudent. One can never be too careful.

If you yourself are a ripper, please ignore this and don't get ticked off.

Thanks for the tip Marcus! I've done Mumbai to Goa in December 2008 at similar speeds and am familiar with riding the ghats even though my biking skills do need work. Totally with you on the safety bit. I'm also familiar with the gravel bit cause my then brand new R15 gave in to the gravel whilst in Goa and the scratches serve as a grim reminder of the same to date Anyway, I since this is my first trip with xbhp, I'll stick to the 80 kmph camp for now

hehe.. if that was me then am extremely sorry marcus bhaiyya.. But I don't think that was me...

To tell you the truth I was riding on the Kasara ghat after a long long time and my past experiences wasn't good. Not at all good. Poor road conditions and horrific traffic. That's why I used to avoid riding on that road. Marcus, if am not wrong Kasara ghat is redeveloped very recently, right? I guess that's why it is in such good condition.

Sorry if that was me but now I dont see any prob for me to ride to your place next time you invite me

roads are gr8 upto lonavala...panvel is a ***** during the day but early mrng should be easy....after lonavala the road is smaller than the highway but not bad by any stretch of the imagination...only traffic we might face is between the khopoli and lonavala expressway and not anywhere else....

The road to Amby is in good condition. Clean n flat with little potholes. Road after lonavala till amby gets narrow and full of twisties. Not much traffic in the morning time.
