Sorry Spidy! Brother, that's what happens with too much alcohol. Sadly no doctor can treat that!

@ the person who short messaged me, is this Winzee? I have forgotten to take your number and now I keep wondering who asks me if I can join on weekend rides!

Also, sorry Razor and Winzee I am unable to ride to Mumbai tomorrow, or for that matter any long ride for about a month I guess. My uppermost rib has not joined properly, and it was troubling me for a past few months. I went today and got another X-ray. And guess what - TaDa!!! It now resembles Ronald's twisted magic wand! I have to take Sodium Dichlofinac shots for five days, along with a month-long supply of various pills!

But please do enjoy the gliding thing, and be the Batman you wanted to be tomorrow! And post some photos, but make sure you tighten everything up otherwise undesirable objects will show up in the pictures! The indication - if you hear a flapping noise, it's not the birds, it's the wind fluttering your.....!!! I know para gliding might be different, but who knows what will happen up there?!
His third marriage was done no FB :P tssk tssk all such activities are now on FB that reminds me where are you dude!!! ( I mean on FB)

I am no doctor but I am just wondering how does the pills know which bones to heal I mean for all you know you might be growing something new :P err.. like horns (and Horns are usually on the head)

I know, but i was hurt on my leg so couldnt wear shoes or jeans.. So i figured wearing a jacket would be kinda weird.
Had another G2G today at 4am.. Will post pics when i get them (Yes this time i wore jeans).
Full riding gear compulsory? I can't bear the heat in a plain t-shirt let alone an armoured jacket. Gloves are fine.

          • Some of us know how this ride turned out

Others are still in the middle of it. Winzee...I hope you made it home my friend. Shirdi me prarthana kiya kya?

It was just Razor and me for most of the ride and we BAKED in the heat. Even the air was flaming hot...felt like I was inhaling fire

Riding season is over folks...start planning night-rides and midnight G2Gs because the daytime is UNBEARABLY hot.

You kidding me! NO SHORTS, DENIMS are a must. And No one here is giving you options with gloves n jacket. If you cant wear armoured jacket atleast wear a thick one. I am not asking you to wear it in or out of the city, am just asking you to wear it whenever you go out for a g2g, be it IN or OUT of the city.
Sorry dude, but If you cant follow rules & safety measures, please stop riding with xbhp'ian tag, ride as a separate/different group. People with closed minds are very much un-welcome here.

Hey guys, thanks for your wishes. Am alright and should be as good as new in about 3 weeks or so. The accident happened at my favourite turn on the way to Lavasa during my practice runs between the two chai tapris. Right after the second right hander, there is a long sweeping left hand turn which you can take at full throttle (post the apex) as you can see the entire stretch of road until it turns again to the right.

I usually hit the apex of this turn at a maintenance throttle of around 7.5k and crack it open once I am past the apex. The R15 sends a fair share of power post 8k rpm to the rear and if your bike is leaned into a corner, your rear does tend to slide because of this sudden power surge. To counter this slide I use my dragging knee to steer the rear and pick the bike up. But today was different.

So here's how and why the low side happened. Right before the second right hander, the Lavasa guys have laid this new tar patch which hasn't been leveled properly. This caused my bike to wobble as I was entering the right hander. To arrest the wobble I stood up a bit and by the time I leaned the bike into the left hander, I was not hanging off as much as I usually do. So when I cracked open the throttle after the apex, the rear slid as usual but this time I didn't have enough time to dig my knee into the ground to steer the bike back up and so it just slipped from underneath.

My jacket and knee guards saved me from any major injuries but my poor quality gloves and jeans couldn't prevent my palm and upper thigh from bruises.

So the lesson learnt here is - Invest in a racing suit or pant with thigh and lower back padding.

              • Ahem... heat?
Looks like my decision of taking a break for couple of months and being happy with occasional night rides is quite..... right

Ride safe guys... Saying so because just came across a news this afternoon that one of my friends was riding from Dhule to Mumbai(He's from Mumbai and works in Dhule in Medical college) and the heat was so severe that he almost had a crash. Because while riding all of sudden he got blinded(may be sun stroke or something) due to severe heat and brushed the mile stone as he lost direction. The effect of heat doubles up cause of the heavy riding gear we wear. YES... He was wearing each n every safety gear right from Helmet to Knee guards. Glad that he escaped a fatal crash.

Had great time riding the few klicks we did together . You nearly made me crash when you all of a sudden roared past me in the ghats.
Me and Karkai went 45 kms ahead of that particular phata we were supposed to turn in search of Winzeee . Enquired about the phata to the villagers after calling Razor.
So we ended up doing 90 kms extra in the scorching sun...
Had to wait and drink water every 15-20kms..
                    Reached home at 5:40 .
Btwn , this is my longest one day ride .

                    kms done : ~450

                    @winzeee
bugger ! You left us all of a sudden in the ride ! where did you end up? when did you reach home?

                        1) I appreciate your concern, but maybe you should read a little more clearly. I said "I UNDERSTAND SHORTS ARE UNACCEPTABLE". Which means i know that i should wear jeans.

                        2) I don't mean to be disrespectful in any way, sir but at least treat a fellow xBHPian with a warm heart. The same thing can be said in a better way. I know the importance of riding safely and riding gear. I agree that certain injuries are prevented because of them.

                        3) Are you asking me to be a complete hypocrite? Even if i don't wear a helmet or any other gear when i'm riding alone it's perfectly fine, but for the sake of the name of xBHP.com i should wear it only when i'm on a g2g? Man i'm not a genius or anything but it's almost as if you care about the reputation of a website more than a person's life..

                        4) Riding with an xBHPian tag?? Who told you i have an xbhp sticker on my bike or that i go to every tom dick and harry and say i'm a member of this community? Unwelcome?? Please calm down man, this is meant to be a laid back community for the enjoyment (and safety of course) of riding. Why would you, being a senior member try and force some 'rules and regulations' and threaten me with expulsion just because i wore shorts on a small g2g ride of a few kms? You're saying that you wear your entire racing kit even when you take your bike to the next lane? Please, i don't mean to be rude but i just find it offensive how you tell me i'm unwelcome and i'm narrow minded.

                        5) It's sad to hear about the demise of the R1 riders, but by giving me one example you aren't going to prove anything. Neither am i racing a litre class bike nor am i going at 250+ speeds. When i do have an R1, i will wear complete gear even when i go to wash my bike, i assure you.

                        6) As the earlier post states, we are highly affected by heat, largely due to heavy riding gear.

I am not saying that riding gear is useless nor am i justifying why i wore shorts/flip flops for that ride where none of the senior members were present.
But sir, by saying "when i do eventually come for my first actual xbhp g2g" you're clearly insulting us by indirectly saying this wasn't an xbhp g2g.. Why? Just because you were not there?

I'm really sorry man but in all the 'riding safely' funda, you've lost the true spirit of respecting a fellow biker.

I tried laughing it off, saying i was silly for wearing shorts but you just went on insulting me. I hope not all senior members are like this.

Pardon me if you felt bad in any way, but i found it outright demeaning the way you thought of having a go at me only becuase i'm a junior around here.
