especially the pune thread which is always so "lively" that invariably i end up checking it even on my mobile whenever I am out

DK must be busy completing the run in period of his new found love. But am sure it wont take him much time to complete it as his daily commute itself consists of ~90 kms both ways

hehehehehe ... "march" rog..!! Even i m caught up with the same thing..and if you ask me this year is even more hectic than the previous 2-3 yrs..

@DK: Dude am yet to leave for nagpur, but by the time you'l reply i'll be off...

@Mitesh: Dude dont carry originals in the city. Just keep your PUC, licence n insurance xerox, wear Helmet n make sure RVMs are there. This way you wont get caught hopefully. Talk in marathi if you get caught.
Personally I believe shelling-off Rs.100 to a cop for RC, rather than risking keeping it in wallet or bike. Most chances are that he'll leave you with puc, insurance n licence & your marathi.
P.S: You'll need RC if the bike is more than 3 months old. thats the max you can ride without RC.

@Chotte-jin: Of what i heard n read, by this year end, a 250cc war will begin among Indian bike makers, still a speculation i guess. Where you read about 600cc launch?

put "upcoming bikes in India" in google...almost every site has it..
chances are they copied it from each other..

Alike you, even I dont wanna risk with my RC but paying off Rs 100 un-necessarily every now & then just coz of RC would not be feasible to me. But I guess I'll continue without original RC for the time being keep ridin until I get fined for RC copy & thereafter I might consider to start carrying original RC
PS: Any idea how longer does the PUC last for a new bike? Where can we get the PUC check done subsequently?

PUC lasts for 6 months. After 6 month you are supposed to get the new PUC. The PUC slip itself has a due date. Follow it.

Most of the big petrol pumps have PUC machines. Also on highways you'll find Maruti Omni(s) with PUC machines. Get it from there

RC card is an issue. Cops dont reckon with the xerox of an RC card
but is thats lost RTO can be a trouble to deal with n remake it. so your choice.

Regarding documents AFAIK a photocopy of your RC book is more than enough. In any case, if you DO have cop trouble once in 6 months just give him a 50 .. Shouldn't be much of an issue. I agree, it's too risky carrying your originals.
