Add to that the numerous divider breaks for U turns ( no signal anywer), ppl crossing crazy, villagers wit cows and a sutta, buses taking U turnsOriginally posted by santoosh View Postsaw all the three axident sites , the news in deccan chronicle is in different way , no drag nothin.
Always felt mysore road was never safe.
lorries stopped @ wrong lanes , passerbys,
odd potholes , barricades and what not.
next time on mysore roads we gotta have 80kmph as our speed limit , decent speed and safe enough.

just make it all the more dangerous !! not just speed limit, but we neeed to follow some basic rules of riding safe
i think our speed should not be controlled by the presence/absence of speed governors.. for that matter, there is no limit set on a highway, but 70 to 80kmph is the best considering all the crazy things that can happen on a highway !!Originally posted by Mibhin View Post@Santa @mithun
i suppose the times of india news is the same that we got to know abt when we were at the dhaba near maddur CCD.
cops have already kept speed governers but only near nice road or near RV college, further towards bidadi and they never keep any.
I already envy the +2bhp advantage you have !! now wat else are you having to take us on a surprise ?? post it soon dudeOriginally posted by mithun.08 View PostI will post my pics to night and i have some thing with me which many will envy here for sure

I believe the maximum speed allowed for any two wheeler in India as per rules is 50kmph and for four wheelers it is 70kmph. I am not sure whether this changes with roads.Originally posted by prajwalkashyap View PostI have seen the board as 60 so I am supposing that 60kmph would be the speed limit on mysore highway. I left the petrol bunk at 1pm and was home at 2:15pm, 75 mins for 75 kms at a constant 60kmph.
Cheers!
Prajwal
And riding at 50kmph in Mysore road is not easy. We require lot of patience for that. Only thing is to avoid dangerous speeds and hope that cops will let you go even if we are caught for 10-20kmph extra speed.

What allen mentioned is absolutely correct. The speed limit for bike is indeed 50km/hr and at some places it is 30km/hr
(These people feel every bike on the road is a splendour).

The speed limit is for highways.I don't see a single speed limit board on cities.Originally posted by kri$hna View PostIs that for city of highway riding?? nevertheless, mysore road has more traffic than most of the city roads ..

Rossiter also said the same thing yesterday(Right rossiterOriginally posted by realredice View Postthe speed limits on the roads to the airport is 80 on the fast lane, 60 the middle and 40 on the slow lane... thats pretty much okay...

Heh.. yes I did. I noticed it, after I was booked for 200+ in the damn 80 zone. I should put up the radar/IR scan of the speed, and my photo the cops took while booking me.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostRossiter also said the same thing yesterday(Right rossiter

The speed limit of 50 & 30 makes complete sense .. it's 40 for buses and I don;t think any of us want HTVs bearing down at 60 plus .. There have been instances of ppl getting caught on the sirsi circle flyover where the limit is 60 I reckon (But with the expansion joints empty nowadays it is a vehicle wrecker).
The road to the airport is one where no one follows the speed limit . Trucks doing 40 on the high speed lane. people overtaking from the left at 100+ and most scary experience was when a volvo doing atleast 100 sped past just a feet away.
I mostly do a docile 70-106 on that road.
@rossi - careful man .. the road is good but as it cuts through a lot of villages there are loads of ppl who cut across the road. they should have put up underpasses at every intersection and a continuous fence. 200+ is something none of those ppl expect and they'll challenge you the same way they challenge ppl driving at 100+ like me.
