perhaps you need a rewind on the charging coil. Check your battery as well before that. It might need a replacement.

I have checked & done that..My Bats' two months old and its ok...i'v got other options ...i'l b trying that out. But Thnx anyways.

Good Options

change th following,,,,,

1. wiring set of the bike,go with classic one only as the dtsi was diff
2. avenger coil (dv111005),more power -you can run 55/60 bulbs with ease.
3. rr to avenger 180.

your problem will be solved.

also check the battery voltage while cranking the motor,if the voltage drops below 9 volts then your battery is weak or verge of death,repalce it with suitable alternative

• exide maintanaince free
• ups battery 7 amph

Hi Doc.....I am already on the option of changing the wires....Bats' ok....I like the the idea of the Avenger's Coil would that be the 200cc or the 220 cc as my mech says to use the original factory replacement of 150's coil and i argued it wont work coz it would be giving the same problem of charging the bigger amp battery but you have referred to the 180cc one.....so the 180 would be suitable?....coz its also the question of the connecting plugs...

i believe it should be avenger 220 coil as avenger 220 sports 60/55w bulbs direct from company... so avenger 220 RR unit and coil should be it i assume, but won't you need a new BCU as well?

Guys (especially new members) never ever get too carried away by the adrenaline rush while riding..mishaps are a bitter side of life and they do happen mates..and they leave you shattered & shaken for the rest of your life..so guys PLEASE PLEASE RIDE SANE RIDE SAFE and be a happy biker for ever..and riding sane doesnt always mean riding slow..just be responsible about yourself, your fellow bikers and ofcourse your family...TAKE CARE BUDDIES

yes chris you are correct,i am talking about the avenger 180s coil,i already added the model number,its dv 111005.its a direct fit with.and yes,please change the wiring and the rr to avenger 180 also to ge the full effect.if your bike is self start option then everything should be straight fit.
avy 180 s coil does support 55/60 bulb.the battery charging rate is enough to charge a 12 amp battery.
@raneet-200 and 220 avy is having com diff charging system.220 is having full dc system with 18 pole 3 pahse stator with bcu and stuff which i hate the most.for the mod i told you dont need any bcu change.
this one is old tried and tested abn no side effects but i still suggest to change the wiring and rr with coil to get the full effect... here is the link,applicable to any pulsars whicha had pathetic ac lights.

@chris,also consider to change the seal beam to a ambassador seal beam from autopal .it will def increase at least 50 percent more light.

oh. It was completely stupid of me not to ask chris about his rife, i assumed whatever he had was a full dc. sorry for the confusion. and ambassador seal beam is a very good advice. It can run 100/90 setup as well without any trouble.

@ Kolkata Xbhpians, I shall be shifting to Kolkata by July and have the following questions:


1) I have a Karnataka registered bike. Do the cops in Kolkata specially catch the bikes from out of state?

2) Do the cops check for road tax payment receipt? I am asking as I paid road tax in Karnataka and in Delhi no cop asks for road tax. Hence I did not pay any road tax in Delhi. Or perhaps the new rule for one time tax payment in any state is in effect here?

3) Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates are valid for how many months in WB?

4) What is the current petrol price there . Normal petrol will do.

5) The institute I am shifting into does not allow bikes on campus, so I need to keep it outside campus somewhere. Please advise on risk of bike theft in Kolkata.

And lastly, if any of you happen to stay in Joka and know of a safe parking place near the Diamond Harbour road, please let me know.
