can someone tell me the distance i would be travelling to yercaud,and also the costs involved for the staying part,

Posting the accommodation math part.

Just like last time, we can take the suites and the hall (above the restaurant).

Cost of Suite (per day): Rs 1969 (12.5% tax included)
Each suite accommodates: 6 people (3 Bedrooms) + 3 extra people (@ 200 per head)
Total no of people per suite: 9

No of Suites: 2
Total people: 18 - (A)
Total Cost: 5138 (1969*2) + (200*6) - (B)
Cost per person: Rs 285 (B/A) - (B1)

Cost of the Hall (the one above the restaurant): Rs 1500
Beds available: 2 + extra beds will be provided @ Rs 200 per person

Assuming we'll have around 30 members (18 in the suites)...

Total no of people in hall: 12 - (C)
Total cost: 3500 (1500 + (200*10)) - (D)
Cost per person: Rs 291 - (D/C) - (D1)

Average cost per head: Rs 288 ((B1+D1)/2)

Assuming we'll have around 35 members (18 in the suites)...

Total no of people in hall: 17 - (E)
Total cost: 4500 (1500 + (200*15)) - (F)
Cost per person: Rs 265 - (F/E) - (F1)

Average cost per head: Rs 275 ((B1+F1)/2)

The accommodation costs works out to be around Rs 300 per head. Please note that does not include the food.

@People who stayed in the hall (dormitory type) last time... can you let us know the hardships you faced last time? We can ask the hotel folks to make the necessary arrangements so that we have a better stay this time. Thanks!

Please note that the figure provided above are 1-day charge. The hotel folks are demanding a 2-day tariff (double the figures mentioned above). I am still talking to the hotel guys on the 2-day charging part. Will have an update by the evening.

Put me in the tentative list :S The date is a bit tight on my schedule but ill see to make it there somehow.

@ Kiran, the dorms were fine in yercaud except we might need more blankets and beds.

Also i think we need to arrange for the food beforehand since last time since we arrived late the food wasnt available and a lot of effort went into sourcing it.

Thanks for your math so when are u planning to book the accomodation? please post the date as i am still on tentative list(90% will be joining donno abt rest 10%), ofcourse will be watching the thread in any case I missed, please post it again

@nagoo: We'll be starting from Yercuad by Sunday afternoon. You should reach Bangalore by Sunday late-evening (around 8pm max).

@grandvam: I am still talking to hotel folks - the negotiations are still on. I feel cynical about their so called 2-day tariff. We should have some update tomorrow.

Once we all are fine with the tariff, we need to deposit some amount to their bank account (I have the details with me). The rest of the amount will be paid during check-out.

Good to see the Coimbatore team joining. Looking forward to meet you guys.

@Mods: Considering the increase in the number of cities coming up for the G2G, I'd suggest renaming this thread to KA + TN + KL = Tri-State GTG in June, 2010

The current one also says the same thing. Do we have any other city entries?

I think what he tried to say was Tri CITY instead of Tri STATE. Its moved from Tri to Quad now.

Coimbatore just got added.

Plus, there is always a possibility of more cities joining in, so IMO the state names are better off since its a "tri-state" G2G.
