Am sorry guys - missed the G2G... R.I.P. Kriss...

Actually a sudden plan had come around due to which had to go to Bangalore... While I reported at work at 0900 in the morning, I left office at 1330 hrs, to fill up and left for Blore in my Bull by 1500hrs. Reached my sister's place by 2215hrs... Was a blissful ride...

I returned back yesterday... left at 1500hrs from Blore and reached home at 2145hrs...

One amazing piece of tarmac I should say. Had done the same route four years ago in 2005... but now it was just - as they say - makkhan!!!

Route: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Vellore - Ambur - Krishnagiri - Hosur - Blore and return the same route only...

Day 1 would be difficult - not impossible because the stretch between gundulpet and sulthan bathery is known for itsn\ notorious elephants, so any time after 5 in this road is not advisable.I would suggest that you spend more time in wayanad than in ooty.wayanad needs 3 days or more , so spend day 2 , 3 in wayanad and ride back home on day 4.

I'm leaving Chennai on Day 1 by 00:00 AM - So that means, I would cross the Bandipur area by around noon / evening - guess it would not be a problem.

Attaching my route Map for this weekend trip to Wayanad:

Day 1: 23-Oct-2009: Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore - Wayanad

Day 2: 24-Oct-2009: Roam around Wayanad

Day 3: 25-Oct-2009: Roam around Wayanad - Reach Ooty by evening.

Day 4: 26-Oct-2009: Ooty - Salem - Chennai

Any suggestions / advices for the novice tourer in me, trying to tour to Wayanad?

I'm pretty sure you'll like this trip. Only suggestion, on the way back, from Salem, don't come via Dharmapuri. Try the Arur, Tirupattur route. The twisties are amazing. The only difference is that Dharmapuri is four lane, but the other one is country side twisties. Time difference will be close to half an hour more through the twisties.

@ xinfii : this road u r mentioning is wat i was advised to take while i was coming back from pollachi... i shud admit that it was a wonderful experience to take this road, though as u said its a SH with jus 2 lanes, the twisties make u go crazy for more.....

but ananth, i did take this route - arur - thirupathur - trichi - chennai ( via NH45)
note : trichy - chennai via NH 45, when i did was pouring n i did it in the rains, it was a wonderful experience..... but it took us 7hrs to do trichy - chennai....

ananth, take the route as u wish, either thro' vaniyambadi / thro trichy!!!
