    • Guys I am planning to bring my bike back to Mysore. This time I wanted to take a different route than the same boring Chennai-Bangalore_mysore route. How good is the Salem -Sathyamangalam-Mysore route?? I will be doing Chennai-Salem-Mysore.

      @Steve,xinfii,apar: Any idea about the above mentioned route???

      • ^^ Do it maan! Don't get bogged down by the route...as long as there is one you will reach where you want to

        Btw, a friend of mine recently did it and was raving about it.

            @Manoj: If you are keen enough, you can even do Chennai - Manali - Leh - Mysore!

            I haven't traveled these roads. But then, when you're unsure, just check it out dude, there is nothing to lose. The Satyamagalam area is pretty good. Just head there, ask the local people about a scenic route and wrap up the story!

                i did this route last month end with my frens(car). the SH that runs through Mettur is somewhat ok. Then after Sathyamangalam u have got that 27 hairpins climb which the only gud part of this route, and then when u are heading down the road is l'lle bad till gundalpet. After this i dunno much as I headed to Wayanad , and BTW u dont have to go til Salem, u can take the road to Mettur which comes few KMs after Toll-booth which comes after Dharmapuri..
                Carpe Diem !!!!!!!

                  • checked FAZER @ 7500-8000rpm range...

                    hey guys...today checked Fazer at 7500-8000rpm range(picked up the speed gradually,,,,avoided quick pick ups).....clicked 96 on OMR...felt that it could do more...but traffic....

                    anyways....bike was stable....with confident handling.....there was little vibration felt under my gloves....but i suppose that is normal.....the front fairing was stable....no vibrations felt there....

                    overall,,,,it seems to be capable enough to do approx 100-110kmph,,,gud enough(if not the fastest) for riding and touring on Indian roads....for me it's still after 1st service and 1200kms...let's see what lies ahead???

                    @Ragav:-
                    engine was smooth....felt no resistance from the engine,,,as i used to feel in city.....wow....glad you asked me to test it,,,it was bro....thnx....but for now,,,,i think i will stick to 4500-5000rpm mark....

                          • @ adarsh: I guess you can easily cross the 100 mark without over revving the engine. Keep us posted when you reach that level.

                            @anant: what do you say bro?

                              Without a pillion yes.With one,yes but obv engine will have to work more.
                              i seriously dont understand the point of a tourer with a 150cc engine.
                              And yeah 100 is a very good speed if your bike can maintain it for long without overheating or any other shit.

                              My 220 does 62-64 at 4k rpm on 5th gear an 90-93 at 6k rpm,which i think is very decent for touring considering there is alot of juice still left.I believe the farther you stay away from the top end,the better for doing long stretches,at a higher constant speed.

                              @adarsh nice kit man.
                              but i dont like how cramster gear looks but as long as they keep u safe

                              planning to pick up a dsg maze jacket and alpinestar raven gloves soon

                                Keeping the engine in lower RPM's is a good thing while touring. Correct me if i'm wrong but mileage on highways is related to the RPM's. abt the cramster jacket and gloves, i think they look good when he's riding.
