Just one question on tyres & tracks - assume I make about 10 laps, will wear out my tyres faster in track compared to the same amount of distance on normal roads?

It depends Largely on your riding character. If you are cruising on track as you do in road, then nothin much, but if you are cornering hard, the track eats your rubber. Also you cannot ride with the same tyre presure in track. It ha to be reduced and hence it also dictates for more tyre wear.

and guys. we would be riding down on saturday itself, need accommodation, are there any decent/cheap hotels nearby where we can crash.

There are some decent ones. CHeck out paramount and you guys can easily accomodate 3 in a double bedroom for 1k.

Only in stunner cup you can rent gears... For track days, you have to borrow from some one you know. The problem in borrowing is,many a times after a crash, the riding gear becomes unusable

hey you guys,
I am flying down to Chennai this weekend (27th-28th Feb) for a track day. I'll be reaching Chennai airport on Friday night (Saturday early morning) at 12:40am.
I wanted to know what would prove to be cheaper, staying at a hotel close to the airport or finding a hotel near the track?
Do you guys have any suggestions for cheap accommodation at any of these places?
Also how far is the track from the Chennai airport and how can I get there especially if I decide to find a hotel near the track on Friday night?
