I too feel Chennai G2G is getting real cold & inactive; I would also encourage a ride, but not again in the ECR; I'm seriously looking forward for April 2nd long weekend; though my damn bike is under running period, appreciate if there're some long or short rides possible;

PS - I really don't expect someone to take lead, but expect everyone to suggest some location & most importantly JOIN THE RIDE.

Had been there few weeks back only. Decent off roading for 30 Kms. Nice isolated place
Its about 30-40 Kms from Vellore.

This is the map from Bangalore to Pondy without entering Chennai.

When coming on the NH4 from Bangalore to Chennai. You will find diversion towards Kanchipuram on the right somewhere at around 290 kms away from Bangalore. The diversion will we visible very cleary and are marked with enough sign boards. After reaching Kanchipuram proceed to Chengalpettu from there. This road goes via Walajabad. Upon reaching Chengalpet proceed to Mamallapuram . From Mamallapuram its the East Coast Road for you all the way till Pondy.

I have given you the route to avoid Chennai. So which mean you will miss the initial stretch of about 50 kms of ECR which runs from Chennai to Mamallapuram. But I suggest its wise to miss this stretch as this stretch will have traffic. So after Mallapuram if you take the ECR as I have suggested you can enjoy aroung 70-80 kms on ECR with less traffic.

And I am not sure of the road conditions from Kanchipuram till Mamallapuram. But I dont think it will be worse.

P.S: I have joined recently the Bladerunnerzzz and joined them on the Harihareshwar ride. I am in Pune right now
