Good to have ridden your Bullet 500 Tarc, Just a couple of pointers:
1. Please get your Tappets adjusted ASAP. I wouldn't recommend you doing speed runs with a loose tappet and miss out on the (already doubtful) reliability factor.
2. Do something for the rear drum, replace break shoes / get it tightened till the groove, but the rear needs some overhaul ASAP!
3. Speedo indication was hayward - No offence, But it was showing 50 kmph when i was riding along side you & the ZMR you were riding was showing 42 kmph! God knows what would be the actual top end of the bike, All in all a comfortable tourer just more refined
4. And yeah get it serviced soon, dont wait for the 3000 km mark, I used to service my TBTS every 1000 - 1500 kilometer / after every trip
Happy thumping Mr.Tarc!Photo Gallery[/B]

Thanks a lot for the pointers Ananth!!
Yeah..tappets started to make noise after the small offroad session we had..too much revving in beach sand might have caused it..didnt encounter it before that..anyway, i need to get it adjusted..in fact, am giving it to service tomorrow..u know how RE handles service..i always book for service at 2k kms and by the time the appointment day comes, it would have reached 3k..from now on should book it at 1k itself after a tripOriginally posted by Ananth View PostGood to have ridden your Bullet 500 Tarc, Just a couple of pointers:

Completely agree..the front saves me everytime..i am planning to get the rear replaced in tomorrow's service..Originally posted by Ananth View Post2. Do something for the rear drum, replace break shoes / get it tightened till the groove, but the rear needs some overhaul ASAP!

@ All the guys who rode in the Sea-water -Originally posted by cbz xtreme View PostGood clicks man. Loved the pics were Rajesh's GS was having a water wash.
I hope you actually washed down the bike properly with ordinary water or even sent the bike for a water wash after you reached home. Saltwater + bike = bad news for the bike!!
All the same, you guys obviously had a blast!!
Dude, while leathers on the Bullet may be good for his "profile", complete leathers will cause him to melt onto his bike!!Originally posted by Makky View PostDamn interested I am!
However, I don't have leathers!
@Tarc: So, you have reason now to go for a leather jacket!
Sorry for sounding like such a noob, but is it possible for us to arrange a track day?? Sounds REALLY interesting!! How do we go about it? And are there any restrictions regarding the bikes/gear required?Originally posted by Insidious View PostThat might actually be a bit true. Try as I might to keep it a safety bike, I'd end up overtaking the others all the time. :P
@Everyone:
Planning any kind of track day any time in the near future?
.......Errr, yes Uncle!!Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostAny new comers will need to attend G2G to know their driving style. We are not here to freak around but serious ride.
There is nothing against anyone new joining the ride, however, will need to know their driving style and take a decision in the best interest of other riders.
Totally agree with you!!
Now since I (and a lot of others, who actually woke up, got ready and then went back to sleep
) missed the last G2G on the beach, when are we riding next? This weekend?
But puhleeeze - not off-roading!! As much fun as you guys obviously had, I would have been in tears if I had to take my bike off-road!!

Who is talking about racing leathers for Tarc??Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostDude, while leathers on the Bullet may be good for his "profile", complete leathers will cause him to melt onto his bike!!

I said leather jacket(The normal black leather jacket with no guards and protectors!) and not racing leathers/suit!!

Come on Uncle, nobody would dream of being a Rossi on a C500!!Last edited by Makky; 07-20-2010, 06:35 PM.

Sorry man! My bad! Thought you meant full kit - though I daresay that even a plain ol' leather jacket will be uncomfortable in Chennai!!

Can't help it! Sweat like a pig but live like a biker!Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostSorry man! My bad! Thought you meant full kit - though I daresay that even a plain ol' leather jacket will be uncomfortable in Chennai!!
Think of those poor souls who hit the track in the peak of Chennai's summer. Track temperatures are ~5 degree C over the actual temperature!!

You are 100% correct about that. I too use a leather jacket for riding. May be I have got accustomed to it, I don't melt while I wear it.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostSorry man! My bad! @ Sunil: LOL, racing leathers on a bullet :P The trackday is very much possible. Heard you need single piece leathers to hit the track. Not sure though. I think the entry is 400 Bucks(?)
@ all: how many takers for the weekend ride? If you wanna make it to the Horsely hills trip now is the time.
@ organisers: dont you think you should make this g2g compulsory for those willing to ride to horsely but are'nt familiar faces to he crowd?
@ Deepak: but you droop with those leathers!

Abt the trackday - Does anybody know for sure? Or is there someway to find out?
I also take it you're referring to this weekend?? If so, where are we riding??
I missed last week because of the god-awful rain and have been stuck at home sick with the flu since.
I'm bored stiff and hope to be fully recovered by Thursday, so I'm game whatever the destination.!!
Btw, have you guys been to the Mudaliarkuppam boat-house?? Might be a nice ride........ Was supposed to do it last week with Anant (Hellsangels)

Y'know, leather pants et al....Originally posted by Makky View PostCome on Uncle, nobody would dream of being a Rossi on a C500!!
I wasn't referring to "racing leathers", as in GP style!! LOL!!
Methinks that perhaps Tarun should look at the leather and mesh combination like Joe Rocket's Reactor 2.0 which is a perforated leather and mesh combo. Only problem though is it's likely to cost a bomb!
