      • Yesterday two things happened in my life for the first time. I saw a Hayabusa with a pillion in flesh passing Vidya Thetre Tambaram between 2 to 4 pm. My jaw opened without me knowing. And some time later i saw a ninja 650 passing the Vidya theatre at around 4 to 5 pm i guess. I was able to see only tail part clearly as it passed in a flash. Couldn't believe my eyes yesterday. I think most probably the Ninja which saw is the one here. Can some one affirm it.

Yes, if the Ninja 650 you saw was registered, then most probably you saw Sunny on his way back home.

          • MY GOODNESS!!!. It was awesome, turning all the heads in that crowd!!. Surely that guy who came with a girl both dressed ultra fashion in his fazer after seeing this Ninja would have felt the agony..poor guy. . I think that Hayabusa was intentionally roaming in crowded places just to draw attention, otherwise he can have no reasons to pass that way (I may be wrong pardon me). Btw yesterday I asked my father to releive me soon in the evenning so atleast i can come to Sriperumbudhur to see you people but no luck.

(oh no, dont tell me one of you was the guy in fazer)

            • Pre-ride Feedback and discussion

The feedback received from the pre-ride held yesterday, I'd like to have another pre-ride for the newbies. It was learned from the pre-ride that the some of the newbies will need another pre-ride.

              What we need to concentrate?
We will need to maintain the required average speed, co-ordination, understanding between the each other and adopting safe group riding skills.
This ride would you know physical capacity and take decisions.

Pre-ride (date will be announced shortly)

              Expected Participants:-
              1. Viresh Patel
              2. Aravinth Srinivasan
              3. Rishi
              4. Sriram
              5. Jafar
              6. Raj Mano
              7. Sajish

Others please free to join the ride if time permits.

              ISG2G Ride day - 2nd Nov 2012.

As per discussion with Jafar, will lead the group - Viresh, Aravinth and Rishi during the pre-ride and for the ISG2G. We would like to give Jafar and his team 2 options to choose from, considering FZ's average speed might require more riding hours to cover nearly 600kms (approx) in a day.

Option - 1. Jafar and co., shall leave the previous day/night to reach Krishnagiri and start early next day towards Chikmagalur
Option - 2. Start very early on 2nd Nov and taking less breaks during the journey.

Idea is everybody reaches Chikmagalur/Resort before dark.

If anyone has a question or concern, feel free to discuss .

                      • Dinesh:- We have seasoned riders in our group and having frequent breaks might slow the momentum. Remember our onward ride to Meghamalai? It was not the hyper speed ride but maintained decent speed and covered good distance. We need to compensate time for the road diversion etc. It is always good to cover maximum distance during the first half. So I request that we can revisit the timelines of breaks as we near the ride day.

Pre-ride is considered important as there will be newbies excited, nervous, over-confident and even scared to interact with others in the group. The pre-ride gives them the chance to mingle with the others, know each other, educate, point out the shortcomings, share best practices and most importantly know each's riding style. It will also give some insight to their machine if any noticible problem surfaces so that the same can be rectified before the ride date. Let's not pull example of what was done during earlier G2G. That's immaterial here. You have a leader and I believe the information for pre-ride was posted on the form with sufficient time. Now, digging into what happened to you or anyone who could not join the ride is not my focus.

No, I was not there for Wayanad but for InterState G2G 2011 held at Munnar. We had pre-rides every location participated if my memory is good. If those who organize the G2G earlier did not conduct pre-ride is it upto them. So can't quote as an example to get an excuse. Let me not interfere too much as who can ride and who cannot, that'll be Karthikeyan's role.

'Being a part of XBHP, i have the right to choose my rides and cannot be compelled into a ride by any sort as a rule which really disturbs ...'

Think again, when you have rights to choose to be a part of the ride or not, what will happen if others start to think if they don't want ride with a particular person? Words like these will have receiprocation.

@CBE group:- Where are pics from pre-ride? Not even a mobile camera pic? Hard to believe that even after 3 days, yet to see a pic. Hoping someone will post soon.
Ghats, corners, highways and town roads needs your complete focus and 100% eye for details while riding. So, let's Run to the Hills!

Hey guys i'm IN for the ISG2G , Since i had a project to finish off on November 1st i was in a dilemma to join or not . Postponed the work now . I'll come for the second Pre-ride and Sriram bro will come to your place and pay you the registration fee

Add another Fz to Jafar's team . Regarding the options mentioned above for FZ's i'm game for both of them . Option 2 solely depends on the individual Recently covered 300 kms in my FZ without taking any break so IF you have to save one working day option 2 it is

There was a preride in 2010 & 2011, 2012 & there will ALSO be prerides going forth. NEWBIES...here, not necessarily means that they're new to motorcycling, but, haven't ridden with xBhp Chennai group or the respective city. None of the xBhpians are superior or inferior to any of the riding clubs, but there's a precise reason to it...
                              - Don't want someone to show surprises they could do wheelie in the group - We're not comfortable
                              - Don't want to demonstrate how fast they can ride - We're not doing speed test
                              - Last but not the least, we're riding with gears doesn't mean, we can let ourselves injured due to all this monkey business + we're not experienced carrying corpses!!!

In order to understand the group riding etiquette & understand each other's style & strike whom we're comfortable riding with, we call for pre-rides for those people who haven't been part of group ride till date; we clearly witnessed how the group ride went last Sunday; going by those standards, we would take about 20 hours to get to Chikmagalur from Chennai which can be easily done in 12 hours, IF the group riding etiquette are adhered and that's what we're trying to achieve.

For the seasoned riders...we've been through pre-rides in the previous years & they've become our riding buddies & all of us have achieved harmony both mentally & physically among ourselves in riding as one group in the past & will continue to do so. So it's immaterial if the seasoned guys participate in pre-ride or not.
@yellowspunk - Didn't expect this kind of attitude from you; very very disappointing!!! If you'd anything personal, you could've settled with the individual and...anything with group, could've talked to any of us. This PM & all these are...I really don't feel saying anything!!!You just shattered the whole opinion about yourself on to me!!!

Last but not the least, everyone knows to talk, just that some of us don't choose to talk ugly & that's called MATURITY & ATTITUDE; if someone doesn't have it, then, it's their problem

Yellowspunk might've sent you a PM on TRUST; I'm not sure how much you've hurt him just be exposing what he did,
despite telling you clearly not to use his name. You've just broken his trust on your ego I suppose!!!

Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way
ATGATT + Awareness + Skill means you might Live To Ride another day

[B]Now Sriram, clear the air in ur group before u poke ur nose un-wantedly in other club matters...
Hope you got it Straight, Loud & Clear...

                                My friend,

I'm not sure that I know you or have met but your post reeks of venom and its destructive intent is apparent. I'm not a blind supporter of everything that goes on in the group but have voiced my concerns and disapprovals directly off-line and have many times had my issues addressed amicably.

Leadership is not an easy thing and in an open forum like this, it's also often thankless. I have not always supported everything that Sriram has said but have had the maturity and sense to debate these issues with him in private and offline. If he has a fault, it is that he takes everything seriously but nobody can doubt his sincerity or integrity. I am sure that many of the seniors and also the regulars will agree that while we may not always agree with him we ALL do secretly appreciate him for stepping up to take the responsibility for everything EVERYTIME. It's nice to be able to chill knowing that the "Fearless Leader" - a name which I coined by the way - has everything taken care of while the rest of us can enjoy the ride.

@ Sriram - you're a grouchy old bear but we all love ya!

I have been riding motorcycles for more years than some of this group have been alive and still clock over 20k Kms annually on the highways and track, so I obviously do not need to hone my riding skills - yet I actively supported and participated in the pre-ride last Sunday. Both Dinesh and Aargee are also seasoned veterans, yet they were there too.

I cannot speak about what happens in CBE as I'm not there, but it has been my privilege and honour to know gentleman like Kathikeyan, Deepak, Lijo and Vijay and my good fortune to have ridden with them. If I'm not mistaken, a group pre-ride was organised/planned there too.

The reason we all do it is not because we need to but because we think its a good experience for the newbies and it is the responsibility of the veterans to share and participate in what we think is a good idea.

If you wish to be part of a group, you need to participate in the activities, volunteer for responsibilities, get to know everybody and then if you would like to challenge accepted wisdom or norms, you would be taken seriously. If you wish to remain an outsider and challenge accepted norms without proper justification, you are likely to be excluded - which is what I suspect has happened in your case. Standing outside a house and throwing rotten eggs will earn you a dubious title. I suggest you knock on the door and ask to be let in. You might be surprised by the warmth with which you will be received.

With regard to Yellowspunk's mail to you, he obviously wrote to you in confidence expressing his own discomfort and empathy with you. A gentleman would keep something told to him in confidence a private matter and your publishing his mail does not reflect well on you I'm afraid.

Your angst and frustration is evident in the contents of your post and while I am nobody to give advice to you, my sincere request is that you think about what I have written above and put your ego and ruffled feathers aside and join us for a ride sometime.

Else, please look me up when you're in Chennai and join me for a brew!

                                Cheers!
