Mind you... they are a hard day's ride... but I cant help restrain my tendencies of increasing distances. Of course you all retain the right to rubbish it

      Cheers all.
That's indeed a good route you have prepared. We can think about this but i will say lets skip Hogenakkal this time. I mean this will be our second ride so lets keep it short this time. Will definitely plan some biggies for future, what say?

I agree with Seahorses, lets have a one day ride again and unlike last time I would try to join this time (though last time it was out of force not by choice )

Yup I agree... I too dont like popular tourist places... I've been to MM hills and come back around through Krishnagiri easy in one day without Hogenikkal and overall the route was nice.

How many kms overall do you think we should plan for?

Suresh bro... so glad to see you suggesting routes... lovely lovely routes... the map youve linked doesn't show mysore rd... Did you mean this - http://goo.gl/maps/7sdJB ? Personally, would love this route, but everyone's probably looking for a slightly more frugal ride as it is only the second ride of the group. But looks mouthwatering nonetheless, for me if I go to the western ghats, i usually get lost for more than a day... its just too beautiful... especially after this time's rain I guess.

Here's another day-trip route, very doable and fun. I've routed it slightly differently so there's variation in route for the way back.

              Yelagiri Hills, TN - http://goo.gl/maps/6K8fC

              Check it out folks,

              Cheers.

The route is fun but one must not expect lots of curves here. The hair pins and sharp bends are barely for 5-8 kms before Yelagiri and are covered in no time! But if you want to max out your tires, then the route is awesome.

i am good with this plan..though this route in not too adventurous(couple of bendies to the way up) but it fits just perfect for the 2nd G2G ride (according to me ). And yea..last time i went there, my P135's front disc brake locked up and my trip was all ruined! So i do not mind going again

                        One more suggestion. Kabini, Wayanad!
Excellent place for bird watchers. Sep-March is the ideal season. 470 kms approx round trip. What say? Plenty of curves on the way!

Preferably, we can do it on a Saturday if none has Saturday shifts.

                        What does one see there?
                        Elephants, crocs, birds, tigers etc.

I have done yellagiri before. Didnt like it much. The road till the mountian base is just staight highways. The ghat section is just sharp u turns and straight stretches. Food is bad and no beer on hill top.

                          So will not recommend yellagiri.....

True, this route is just decent. Nothing too great.

This one's personally not my first choice route. But rated easy like u said.

Just saw a thread where this guy 'renjith4969' did an entire Delhi Bangalore Solo on his FZ. Now kahaan FZ aur kahaan tera SBK yaar... On a serious note... that bike is very capable... just needs fuel ... I'll make sure you're topped up beforehand so you ride bilkul tension free.

Oh this idea I definitely love... first two maps I suggested was around 500kms and was thought to be a little too much... Thats why I suggested Yelagiri actually. I'm totally game for western ghats. Getting on to mapping a route. Will get back on it.

I agree man. The Kabini - Waynad circuit is very interesting too... i'm getting on to mapping it as an option.

                              ____

Well well Well... look how this beauty of a route turned out to be... Actually speaking, this is an awesome hardcore day ride. But be warned its not for the faint hearted. This involves large tracts of road in the twisties where our average speed will be significantly lower... Expect to be back only by night. I LOVE IT... HARDCORE RIDE. Would've been even more perfect and explorative if we had 2 days... but i personally will be glad to do it in a day even. No probs for me as long as we RIDE...

So as an option for a Wayanad Circuit... here it it:

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

Check it out ppl... definitely very interesting, how game is everyone, let me know.

                              Cheers all.

Since there is so much buzz on this thread after so long everyone has 'josh' to ride. Why don't you guys ride too Ooty/Madikeri for lunch and back.

Perfect weather for a run like that. Let me dig my threads for a similar ride from a century back, so you guys can get an idea of what to expect. And if my ishlow old bike can do this, on your faster more modern machines it will be a cakewalk.

Kudos to the folks for bringing this thread alive again
