@mods & others : Is it possible to pin a post at the top of a thread so that it is visible at all pages? Like how the poll is done? So that the current ride plans can be pinned at the top and it wont be buried in all the bakar sessions going on And also the current poll can be removed anyways since the name is not going to be changed
@bbhagawati : The next ride planned is for Sep22 but it is going to be 350+kms round trip. You can find details in prev page.

May i suggest a place? i know most people already might have visited this place, but looking at the retreating monsoons, this place can be worth visiting. The place is Shivanasamudram (We can visit both Bharachukki and Gaganchukki). We can take two different routes (one while going to this place and one while coming back).

THE FASTEST OBJECT ON THE ROAD FROM BANGALORE TO MUMBAI ON 4 SEP 2013

                    First 1000 km+ ride

Start time: 5:30 am (2 hrs late)
End time: 9:30 pm (4 hrs late)

                    Total small brks (5-10 min) = 15
                    Lunch brk (1 hr) = 1

Total time = 16 hrs (including everything)

                    Total distance 1015 km
Net avg. Speed = 62.5 kmph

                    Bglr-pune avg. Speed = 80 kmph
                    Pune-mum avg. Speed = 42 kmph

What a ride guys!!! It was what saquib would describe "fantabulous"

I was happy enough with my first 500 km in 6 hrs but then hubli-belgam hit me. Wonderful landscapes.

Didnt stop for photos. 2 reasons. Started late and photos dont do justice to what is out there. Anyways didnt bring the laptop so photos will have to wait.

After kohlapur, mh, roads became really shitty. My ass started to burn like hell and i just wanted to end this damn ride. Then chicken maharajamac and kohlapuri college girls' special treatment to "the biker" pushed some energy into the system.

Then pune traffic. Reached thr at 5 pm. Was looking forward to old mum pune highway. Looked overrated. I was expectin atleast some good twisties which had to beat hubli-belgam at the least.

Imagine how i would have felt when i saw lonavla-khandala 's rain sodden valleys. I never had this feeling before. It was as good as my favourite food - mushroom ki sabzi

And i was crazy on my ceeber in those curves. I was doing downhil curves at 100. Just tears man. Tears of joy. And i was screamig in my helmet.

Cbr is just a beast at the highways. I had aimed for avg 80 speed expecting a 60. Never thought will pull out an 80 so easily. Tremendous power. Feels like my adrenaline gets pumped to it when the engine is warmed up.

Then the messy stuff started. Got lost after panvel (which i reached around 7:30 pm) and ended up in juna seva. Thats the port. I had to go to chembur, hpcl refinery, which was also on the shore but not this one. The next one. If i could take a boat would take me 15 mins. Instead and obviously i took the road and took me 2 hours in dirt, almost no roads and no civilization.

It was time to use the google maps. Found my way back. Enjoyed palm beach road but faced shitty mumbai traffic near vasi bridge and chembur. Finally came to hpcl guest house, nice colony, got its own personal jungle right in the middle of shitty city around it.

Turns out my front disc is screeching meaning my front disc pads are gone. Front suspension is behaving erratically and hearing a buzzing sound at higher rpm. Seems like some tiny broken fragment is vibrating somewhere. Disc pads ill take care of. Fingers crossed for front suspension.

In the end, a hell of a ride. YAY, I DID IT IN ONE GO.

Thanks saquib for route suggestions and especially for boosting the confidence. Just after reading your post the ride was looking pretty light.

Thanks Honda for making cbr 250. I would have called it romance but ceeber is a male so ill manage with "bromance".

Hats off to XBHP for teaching me how to ride big and wide.

Unofficial Thanks to HPCL for sponsoring this ride, UNOFFICIALLY.

Hi I have personally picked a jerry can, a pyke knife and a spotting scope from these guys and I must say that they are pretty good.

However I think their optics could be of better quality, I found my scope was not as rugged as it looked.
