whats the best route to go to Kudremukh. Hassan - Belur - Mudigere- kalasa or Chikmangalore - balehonnur - Kalasa ?

ya but roads?? once I was caught between kalasa and Mudigere so took the other route next time. After that some one else had posted that balehannur route was bad.. Any recent updates ??

The stretch between Kalasa and Kotigehara was painful when I rode there in April. Kotigehara to Mudigere was slightly better off.

PM DarthVeda, he knows an alternative route where the roads are slightly better.

Just did Kotigehara to Kalasa this weekend. Was excellent ride, slow but beautiful. On the way from Kotigehara to Kalasa/Hornadu you will get a sharp left turn which says going towards to Kalasa/Hornadu skip that and go towards Magundi. After a while you will get a left towards Kalasa again and going straight heads to Chikamaglur. This is the route you will come if you are coming from Chikamagalur, Balehonnuru!!! This road goes along the Bhadra river and is just awesome!!!

BTW, Chikamaglur to Balehonnuru is excellent but the first half of Balehonnuru to this deviation is a pain!!

A bit confised here//U mean the route from chikmangalore to balahonnurr is good. But the balehonnur to the deviation point (to kalasa) is a bit bad right?

Yes. from chikamagalur go towards Mudigere, then on the way you will get a right which goes towards Balehonnur through aldur. you have to take this road if you go straight you end up in Mudigere and then you have to do kotigehara and kalasa.

BTW, don't use google maps it sucks. Try getting mgmaps on your mobile and use yahoo it's much better. I even found a shorter route between Ujare to kudremukh without going through bajugoli due to this
