MGMaps is awesome. See Praful, it encouraged you to ride longer to Kodai. Isn't that nice? Dont do any routing on mgmaps, just use it as an electronic map. It'll work great!

Unless it is night time riding and noone is around, I suggest not using any maps at all. Any local there will give you the direction in much simpler, effective way.

Longer is usually not a problem, I think I should have written it as the crappy way around

On 600km/day rides, that too in TN heat....I would prefer to avoid roads like this...

Note: Notice poor pranay standing on the pegs all thru this stretch.

MGMaps doesnt give info on the quality of roads. Perhaps, there was a road when the map was generated........ and bikers like u and me may have over-used them! Can't blame mgmaps for that!!

Logic & Gut feeling said take another route....But Darthie insisted that the MGmaps shows the best route.

Twice on that ride MGMaps lead us thru weird routes!

Eicher maps+asking the locals rocks IMHO!

                  • Can some one help me with directions to the Mysore Road, Coming from Electronic City?

I would be entering into Bangalore by 6 AM, and am not sure of taking which route to Mysore.. Would be thankful if some one could post a route map.. Thanks in advance

from: NH 7 to: Unknown road - Google Maps

The part that goes over Bannerghatta road is slightly confusing, but if you follow where the rest of the traffic is going you should be heading in the right direction.

The section over Bannerghatta is actually not straight as shown in the map and hence might be a bit confusing, but its better than entering the city and getting even more confused. Rest of the stretch is full straight road!

come straight on hosur road and take a right at silk board junction.

For the rest of the way to mysore road/mysore :

from: Outer Ring Rd to: Unknown road - Google Maps

Even NICE road will also take u to mysore road directly from hosur road, but I am not sure if the sections between bannerghatta road and kanakapura roads are connected completely. Someone else can confirm this for you.

                        Cheers!

Thanks for the links!! To make it simple, I have to take a LEFT on to the NICE ROAD while exiting from Electronic City or if i miss it, Take the LEFT @ Silk Board Junction, leading to BTM, Banashankari and finally joining at Mysore Road..

The roads after Bhanashankari Bus stand are a bit confusing to me.., So Would try my best to hop on to the NICE ROAD..

@Darthie: We would have had to ride thru the ghats anyways, only the route to reach the ghats wud have been better had you not followed the advice and MGMaps. Next time no mgmaps
