Guys, please form few sets of rules for the highway ride and for the stay over there in Chandipore - to avoide unwanted incidents. I think its very much important and required.

From me:
1. In the highway, maintain proper formation and strictly maintain your serial number.
2. Do not over-speed and break the formation whatever the reason may be(the roads would be inviting, I know!).
3. Check your papers, DL before leaving home.
4. Inspect your vehicle properly and check, the E.Oil level, Tyre, Electrical wiring, any weird sound from the engine etc.Do not depend on the SC guys, do it yourself. Please do not come if you are not confident with your machine.
5. Please do not consume any liquor, sedative drugs or anything during the trip, as it is strictly banned for a xBhp G2G.

Further, all the members can modify, change or delete the points mentioned here(But, please maintain the 5th one.)
This is for your safety.

Group riding etiquettes

Do's

* Communicate the hazards on the road to the people following you through hand signals.
* Enact the hand signals that the preceding rider displays.
* Ensure that the rider following you is visible on your RVM.
If the rider following you disappears from your RVM, slow down. If he still does not appear, pull over. Chances are that he would have stopped.
* Maintain a decent distance between your bike and the bike you are following.
There should be at least a 2-second gap. The one-second gap mentioned in many online tutorials and sites are suitable only for US highways and the likes. Back on our roads, we have everything - animals, humans, vehicles (small and large ones, many of them), potholes, speed-breakers, and what not. Probability of hard braking is higher on our roads.
* First time riders must ride up front and, preferably, follow an experienced rider.
* Spread out a little around corners. Most will need a little extra space.
* On four-laned, median separated National Highway, the default formation is staggered, unless a single file is called for.

Don'tsOther Pointers

* DO NOT litter any place. Dispose the waste in the dustbin.
* DO NOT smoke at places where smoking is restricted.
* DO NOT carry plastics where ever it is banned.
* DO NOT stop on the ghat section where there are monkeys. You will have to regret if they snatch something valuable from you/your bag.


5. What to carry?

Service your bike - Get your bike throughly serviced before the ride (engine oil, brakes, electricals).

For you:

* Cash for petrol/trip payments/emergencies.
* Travel light! Apart from what you are wearing, a spare t-shirt, walkers/slippers, shorts/bermudas, undergarments, towel, toiletries.
* Rain suits (just in case it rains).
* Warm jacket / thermals (if you are susceptible to cold weather).
* Extra cash to be on the safer side (emergencies).
* First-aid kit.


ATTENTION:
You will be turned back on the ride day if you fail on any the following pointers:

* Any invalid or missing bike papers.
-Non-TN bikes must have original documents.
-TN-registered bikes coming from other states too must have original documents.
* Mandatory riding gears - Helmet, shoes, jacket (if not armoured, at least a wind-resisting thick one, or denim jacket), and gloves. If you do not have any of these, do procure it.


Other Important pointers:

* No stunts, over-speeding, or rash-driving.
* Each participating bike must have both the rear view mirros (RVMs).
* Pillion rider must be equally be geared as the rider (exception gloves).
* Fill up your bike's tank and check your bike's tyre pressure on the eve of the ride day. Fuel/Air stops take away a lot of the riding time.


Please, carry the following valid documents to avoid unnecessary trouble in the ride:

1. Driving License
2. Insurance
3. Registration
4. Pollution Certificate

Absolutely bappaditya we shouldn't over speed also as its rainy season there are a lot of chances of slippering and we should always be in groups.

i know all the Xbhpians are good at riding safe and thats what we need to promote also.

I don't know what to say.
But I think, we have recovered it.

Speed for group riding

X-men, we generally go for tours and found out a very simple logic, we call it the rule of 70's which means try to maintain 70KMPN for 70 mins, in 4 lane highways you will cover 55-60 kms during that time and in 2 lane good roads it will be about 50kms. Rest for 10 odd mins and then start.There advantages for this

• your machine does not stress out even a 100 CC machine is capable of doing the speed for the duration
• the more you speed above 70 the more pressure is on your eyes (IMO)
• also most of the machines can be stopped or controlled well in this speed.
• the efficiency factor is good

If the other X-men have better ideas please put up.
Also please make sure you have a PUC or else you will be in trouble

I think everyone is wearing full face helmet with visor down!

Also never forget to keep duplicate bike keys with you whenever you travel out of the city. Will save you from a lot of trouble that might happen if you lose the keys.

Adithya Good to see you Back Chief, I guess this is Copy pasted from "Tamil Nadu" Forum, So the Terms TN bikes and NON TN Bikes.... Replace TN with WB over their...

Hence another tension of losing duplicate keys gets added too,things may come to pass with some one like me that I retain the original key and lose the duplicate ones
